Typically, a Street bike motor will have more than one wire coming from the magneto (area). Manufacturers have done things in different ways over the years, so I'd suggest looking for a wiring schematic online if you can find one.

Find the correct ignition coil for the bike / motor and see what it needs to hook up. Usually a twin cylinder will use only one wire to a twin output coil. That wire gets grounded by the kill switch or button to stop the signal from the magneto / points from getting to the coil. Same as a mower setup.

On my particular set up, the hot wire from the battery goes first to the keyed ignition switch, then to a cut off switch that allows 12V to go through a single wire to the coils. That single wire splits into two once it gets to the dual coils. So with the cut off switch in the off position, neither coil can get 12v.

So the 12v going to the coils is also connected to the points?

Yes. On mine, there as a single connector that recieves the 12vdc from the cut off switch. That connector also has wires in it that leads to the coils and the points.

If you look on the "Honda Twins" website, they have schematics that show this wiring. This happens to be for a CL or CB350, but I believe all the old twin cylinders are pretty much wired the same.

That is one heck of a machine. I got a 1972 Montgomery Ward 4 I will speed 15 and it's got the exact body as that one. Yours must have been made by Gilson like mine.
