You could have two small mufflers on both sides for dual side pipes, would save space under the hood. Of course they would be relatively close to your feet/legs, might need some heat shields that way. Either way, it'll be interesting to see how it turns out, the exhaust is my favorite part of any project.

Today I cut the footboards, found a way to secure the rearfender, dash console.
I went for angle Iron to form a frame for the rearfenders.
These will also support the dashboard, and square tubing will form the supports to the sidecovered sheetmetal and hood.

This will also make it so I can remove the rearfender if i want too. - And run only seat and wheels.

Think Ill make the exhaust in a loop behind the grill so left exit will be right exhaust and visa versa,
- and they will both be straight piped out the sidecovers.

No the dash won't be that "sharp", It will be shortened cut to half of the steering column.

I got the 13 tooth sprocket in the mail today, woho. And spent 6 hours working with the sheetmetal sidecovers.  rabbit ALOT of tack welding, meaning no mask. Eyes are sore now.

- Also remember the coffee table?
Well I ground of the paint of some solid round stock on that table, I'm gonna use them for a gas tank mount - FREEBIE!!!

No idea if you ever fully decided on the exhaust pipe yet, but I'll share what I did with my Twin when it actually ran.
I ran both pipes to a single one that ran down the center, then a single pipe ran the length of the tractor, at the end, it doubled over to a weird H kinda design.

By all means, that is nowhere near to scale.

Ya but the is no room, then I would have to let it straight down with a difficult bend below the tractor.

Fender Chop Part One!

And keep them Exhaust Ideas coming guys.

For the rear of the fenders im thinking of either cut it shorter overall like this:

TD's John Deere 210 R - "Help I Shrunk my John Deere 210"! - Page 15 DC19310B-4824-4EFF-A0EA-B05CCEEDB215_zpsornddopl

Or shorten it lenghtwise in all its width. (Much more work).

The front of the footboard will get this mod to them.

Battery fitted nicely where I planned it to.

I think it would look cool having the fender cover the tire, with the tire up inside it some.

I like how it is now. Is that as far in to the chassis as the tires go?

I like how it is now. Is that as far in to the chassis as the tires go?

No they go all the way in, but this is to keep the front and rear same width.

So i started with the stuff you dont see, but takes alot of time, fabbing small brackets and stuff like that.

Clutch or tensioner is done, for now.
Used one of the many springs i found in the dumpster. - Old trampoline springs.

Modified and welded on a brake pedal, this one is from the 90cc Mini ATV donor.
Still need to hook and fab up the linkage to the brake pump.

And I also managed to bust my finger when wrestling the Peerless 700, Now it stays bent sideways and down.
- But i quickly made some support for it out of plastic tea spoons and tape to hold it straight again, and kept working.
Must have been a proper blow to the finger, cause the glove kept the same swing when i took it off,  Very Happy

Just a reminder to be careful when we do our favourite thing guys,  Very Happy

So i had to reverse the direction for the brakepump, to keep it not for taking so much space.
So i sketched this up,

Normal v-belt yes. the clutch is a Hilliard Extreme. - But its only rated for 12 or so hp. So if this fails I can still install a "normal" foot operated clutch.

I finished the brake today, but ofcourse it rubbed the rearfender, so i will have to beat a notch in the rearfenders or move the brake an inch or so more backwards.

Today I Cut the brake pedal off again and moved it about an inch toward the rear, So it cleares the fenders.
Angled the front of the frame so it leans forward like the hood does, and welded it solid. Also bolted the grill mounts down.

Will make a hole in the fenders for the brake pedal tomorrow, and weld them up.
Need to fab up some mounts for the front of the fender and rear also.
