Picked this up for $100 on Saturday. it still has the original 8 hp briggs engine in it and it actually runs. The starter/generator is missing, but it was electric start at  one time. I don't know what tranny is in it, or how many gears it has for sure. something seems to be stuck inside it though because I can only find 2 gears and neither of them are neutral. haven't messed with it but ill probably have to pull it apart.

yeah its a solid little tractor. its different though. the front axle is welded to the frame but it pivots on the back right in front of the rear fender.

LMAO I just saw this post. I just got mine back. Great tractors! I remember mine had a shifting problem years ago. I had to split the trans and figure out the shifting pattern. It's 3spd in a sideways H pattern. There are roll pins on each side of the "H" inside that stop it from moving too far. One of the pins got damaged on mine. Might be what's up with yours. Split it and get it right. These things are little beasts. Good luck!

Nice. I think they're nifty little machines. Someone should put a twin on one.
