The project started out life mowing our lawn for the last 25+ years. It became mine after my father bought a new mower.

Wow that mower is in great condition for being used for 25+ years

It was very well taken care off was my grandparents for a long time then we bought their house and it and all the tools in the garage came with it.

I got a good deal on a 20hp Kohler twin cost me 20 dollars. So I removed the 11hp briggs and stratton and the v twin barely fits but I got it in.

So I got the exhaust all set up and welded on each side

Looks good so far so what's next on your list of things to do ? Lol

that is a prime example of a tractor that I would feel bad destroying by modding it

It may look pretty but the transaxle, engine and clutch were pretty much shot after mowing for that long. The picture was also before my father shoved it outside for the winter a few years ago   


After getting a new four speed transaxle getting rid of the stupid vari-drive I built a six inch subframe.

ahhh, ok. that changes everything. thats a sick frame you built. thats gonna be a hardcore mower. i'd look around for a Peerless 633a

l'll keep a eye out for one on craiglist but for now I'll stick with the free four speed.

So I got the front set up its not done yet it still needs supports. I'm thinking four link and shocks

I pulled the clutch out and started on mine own today.

I would try to make the front to where you can have 4 of the same size tires all around without it sitting off.

I got some tires off a snowblower and with the 25 inch atv tires I have it sits level. I just got to go get the hubs for the front from my friend later this week.

can you show a pic of them rear tires they look cool but you cant see them that good love those front tires man keep it up

There tires and rims off a king quad I got for free. I got the 22's on cause the 25's are bald.

So its been awhile since I got a chance to work on this. I finally got the hubs for the front made.

I like the look of them old murray hoods. Looks like front toro tires? I like the exhaust too.

I have a tracter like. This sept mine is a murray really like the look ofthe tracter just dont really like how it performed off road. I replaced all steering componets to GT stuff check it out on youtube. I called it the old timer. Im ready to see a test vid.

The front tires are Toro tires from a snow blower and they had holes drilled in them for lug nuts. The exhaust is 2 and a half inch pipe from my truck. I already went ahead and replace all the steering with stuff front a old Polaris snowmobile. I have 25's for the back already from the same fourwheeler but I'll get a picture of them after work.

So I took it for its first offroad drive it did good til the shift link broke  

Still need to lock the transaxle but it did good for not being locked

Looks like you had fun none the less! Small stuff is a pain when you're having fun, understandable. I broke my shift linkage twice when i went to do some snow riding lol. Nothing like cruising in 3rd and then having to get off and get underneath it to back it up!

It was fun til every time I wanted to back up I had to hop off and dig in the mud to find the link on the transaxle but oh well. I want to hear what you guys think should I go with some AG tires bear claws or a swamp lite I can't decide.

no, stop it.. bmp... you should get swamplites or Kenda executioners. ive only gotten stuck once, and it was buried. if youre making it 4wd, it will go anywhere
