hey rod, it looks like there is a lock nut at the bottom so just take that nut off and try to slide the hole steering wheel and shaft up and out. tell me if you can fit a socket on there.

There could be a pin that holds on the steering wheel at the top somewhere. That's my best bet right now.
As for fuel economy. Well, I'd like a v twin for my mudder, the opposed twin drinks sooo much gas. Hell, if it gets too bad I might put a single in it just until I can get a v twin.

well if the nut is already really stripped then take a pair of vice grips at it. Thats only if you know you cant take it off with a socket. also use a shit ton of WD40 and soak it

I got the nut off, but it's the thing above it that's keeping the steering rod from sliding out. I don't know really how to get that off, the vice grips kept sliding off. Is there a special tool I need to remove it?

Here's a small update on the pick-up lawn tractor. Almost everything is primed and ready. I just painted this today and it looks great! Hope to do the same for the rest tom.

If its the same as what was on my Dynamark, there is a pin threw the steering column that is holding the entire assembly on. I needed to use a lot of PB blaster and 2 monkey wrenches to work it off. Give us a picture of the piece that is holding you up now, I think its going to be the same as what was holding me up. Vice grips always slip for me, I use monkey wrenches now, they don't slip and will really give you a lot of leverage.

Cool video - could it be an arctic cat lawntractor? i know for a fact ( cause i had one) an arctic cat minibike . Hard to tell w/o researching it more- if the video had a front facing veiw of the grill, itd be easier to tell.

I was looking though the cupboards and found this Sweet chrome car exhaust. Could it be retrofitted to a lawn tractor? I was thinking of putting it underneath the tailgate or just having it underneath the fender. The old Grass Cat sticker is kinda ruined unless I could have a new one made so I thought of having the All Terrain Lawn Tractor Team sticker instead.
