I might do the same thing for my mud mower but with truck tires. Easy to do BUT it comes at a price. ...With all the weight on the very end of the axle it puts an ASS LOAD of stress on the transaxle!... | |

| What transaxle was you using that broke? I sure see a lot of broken transaxles on this site. Guess a guy needs to pet those things. Also was it locked ? Thanks. It looks good.

| My group has blown a few transaxles out. Our most common failure was welds giving out where we locked the spider gears. Once that happened a chunk of the weld would get lodged in the gears and the stress would blow out the casing. We have also snapped a couple axles. Our current transaxles are modified peerless 820s. We use a custom 1" axle that goes straight through where the spider gears should be. Check Stretch's video for details. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3JuCfSY-Gc | |
