I plan on gettig a cheap radio and mounting it in the tool box I have on the back. I was thinking about using a PA instead of speakers cause I have some laying around and they are water proof. I have one on my truck that plays music and it sounds good and is really loud

nice, someone should put a train horn on theirs

lol I'm putting my air horns on my new car. I want to put an Awooga horn on my tractor Razz
just use headphones
Headphones could work but what if your mower is loud the headphone wouldt be loud enogh to hear.

They make noise cancelling headphones. I used to mow with the Ariens and listen to my iPod and heard fine with a $10 pair of Skullcandy earbuds.

I like that idea with PVC pipe, RUn a pipe up the side, and latch it to the side with a removable cap on one side, and glue a set of headphone (the wire, not the speaker part), so water cant get inside. Good luck XD

PostSubject: radio anyone?   Radio on tractor - Page 2 Icon_minitimeMarch 23rd 2014, 4:52 pm

hello, something on my mind lately is putting a radio on my tractor. ive got a car radio, speakers, and im working on getting an antenna for it. but theres one flaw. I don't have the wiring harness for the radio. I too the cover off of the radio to see if the circuit board had any markings on it to see if maybe I could solder wires to it. long behold, there was no markings. so, I either need a new harness/connector, or a different radio.  I kind of want to use this radio because I know exactly where to put it and how I want it. and I don't have the money to buy a new radio either. so that's my dilemma. any help? Question

Your better off trying get a free one. I get them all the time. Just make sure oeople know you want radios and they will get them when they come across them. The wireing plug is critical. Most of the time you connect the yellow ans red wire to the positive and run the black to a negative with a toggle switch. Proper way is to put the switch in the yellow wire as this is your activate wire to turn the radio on.

Its not just that, its puddles, washing, etc. Id suggest a marine-grade radio off a boat or something.

im not that worried bout puddles, ive got front fenders. ill do a youtube video of it. washing is one thing, but im planning on doing a nice duck tape cover on it. I can removethe front, and then just avoid it with the pressure washer.
