| Went to see lawn tractor racing at the Alliston Potato Festival today. Don't know who built this or anything about it, but- Dang! That's cool! | |

| I have not a clue if the rearmost axle is driven, but I could see how it could be pretty easily done. One way would be 2 transaxles, linked together by swapping out the pulleys for double pulleys, and linking them with a simple belt, one to the other. HOWEVER- you'd have to shift 2 trannies at the same time, and if you accidentally put one in the wrong gear, you're going to break something.
The best way I can thing of is a tranny (think Peerless 700) and twin live axles, linked by chain and sprocket. Thoughts? | |

| I'd let one axle freewheel, it really would have no function except for extra capacity over the rear and stability. At least that's my opinion |

| or you can setup a cable shifter and shift both with only one shifter

| And a wicked traction advantage. 4 wheels, no diff!!! A cable shift could work as well as a decent mechanical arrangement- but it had better be perfect! One miss-shift and you're going over the trail with a magnetic sweeper to collect all your stuff... | |

| I wish, eventually I'll build up a tow rig from a suburban. Not yet though. | |

| Not bad, not bad. I think that if I had the choice, I'd still go with the 700 and double live axle, but full props to this guy for pulling this off. If you have 2 of the same transaxle kicking around, it certainly is the cheaper option. | |
