| Thats exactally how my MTD felt - seemed super fast in the backyard, then was like slow going wot. The murray was never like that- was fast in both places.
I think that 6 speed trans from the murray might find its way into the MTD soon enough....

| Did a few more mods. I added a front bar to keep the engine safe if i hit something and i put a bigger front pulley on it, i had a 4.5 on the front now i have a 6.5 and the back is still a 5". I need to add more gear oil and fix my leaky axle seals cause the gear oils just leaks rite out then the tranny gets loud. She does around 25-30 now instead or 15-20 i'd say. | |

| Long time no update!
I'm thinking about putting the rear tires from the simplicity on this one and putting the front pulley back to where it was. I miss off roading mowers since i got my atv, I ll give the atv a break and play with this mower for awhile. | |

| nice mower but id lower it so the chassis is 4" of the ground and have a machine shop make you a widened axle for the trans axle and go to bmi carts get some good spindles and lower it down for a lower cog and ebay for a tether kill switch and support the axle with pillow blocks hear is a pic of one of my racers i got 3 lime green ones and know how to do chassis setups and engine mods | |

| This is the angle that will get you hurt at high speed. With the camber you have on that axle, once you get it up to speed, it will start that dreaded hunting right to left. Our mowers have 0 degrees camber. The front axles on ours are custom made, but there are stock axle assemblies you could fit in there that have no camber. | |
