So yeah this has a snap ring groove but idk if I assembled this wrong or not but its not coming out al the way. Anybody have this issue

take it down again, try switching washer around and what not, if not, take the steering wheel off, bang it a few times with a BFH... LOL

Yep- pop that pinion gear off and find out why it's not going far enough up the column.

FIXED!!! had to flip the upper part before the pinion upside down
