Thread for nifty and interesting race related videos. Why? Why not? That's why. If you find a neat race related video, feel free to post it! Especially if it has loud exhaust.
1973 at Nurburgring in Germany. Jackie Stewart guides you through some of the course. Check out how cramped the cockpit is.

Group B action clips
The reason the FIA decided to ban group b after several accidents in 1986
Walter Rohrl onboard from 1985 in portugal. Insane crowd situation with fans backing off the road just before getting hit. By 1986 at least a few of the audi team cars we're known to have at least 500hp.

That frank guys co-driver must be one of the coolest I've heard. I watched a couple other video's of theirs also. That guy is always yelling. I've gotta get ari vatanen's rothmans escort on here....
this first guy is in mainly front wheel drive cars, some of them are the maxi class from the mid nineties, he drifts using weight transfer, inertia drift its really something else!

My first day as a rally cameras assistant (minder) back in 2010... Chris the cameraman is the one who FLIPS over the fence - NO-ONE WAS HURT - miraculously, but our camera was destroyed and scattered all over the field, i still have the subaru badge from the car in my room.
Irish and Northern Irish tarmac rallying is a completely different challenge to anywhere else in the world, it is so bumpy here that visitor competitors from other countries often get caught out like this.
this is a longer video but it shows probably one of the more extreme stages, the last 5-6 mins is pretty tight, i was part of a camera crew at the stage end interviewing the drivers and the responses were amazing, drivers from all over Europe saying that it was the hardest stage they had ever done, the best stage they had ever done, still shaking with adrenaline and smiling from ear to ear

That second video was a pretty neat stage. Seems like the toughest thing is not getting messed up by rough spots. Hard to tell where they're gonna be. Motorcycle road racing in ireland and the isle of man is pretty nuts. Some of those videos are pretty amazing to watch. You really need to know the course good to ride that fast. No way to see the turns come up. The shadows of trees on the road mess me up. Makes it hard to tell what's going on. I can't imagine being able to focus well enough to do that. Bad enough when your riding alone, but when your battling someone else, then you've gotta pay attention to the course and also the other guy.

Yeah, I've done a bit of film work with the bikes too, circuit and road, its a strange atmosphere with the guys going into an event as they all know the risks, you can see its maybe in the back of their minds, they soon forget about it when the race starts. There is a good film about the TT - 'TT3D Closer to the edge', and another one about the Dunlop family road racing dynasty called 'Road', good insight into the sport.
I've been watching a lot of old World Rally Championship season reviews there also, 1999 - 2001 are worth a watch, the wonder years!

I think I might have seen part of that TT documentary on youtube awhile back. Unless it was something else.
