Account purge.

Another 43 accounts purged for have never posted or logged in.  I see several for next year as well.

Don't be nervous, if you have posted 1 time even to say Hi.  You are safe. Right now, I am using 0 post and never logged in ever for the past 5 years.  I am however considering expanding the criteria to 0 posts that have not logged in for the past 5 years.  This would pick up really old accounts with no posts that have abandoned the site for over 5 years.

For example, there was a big influx of accounts for Doc's Diesel Weasel in 2016.  Most have 0 posts and haven't logged in again since Jan//Feb 2017.  

Here's the catch.  Did they show up and vote then leave?  If so,

• were they created accounts to pad the vote then never used again? In that case they are invalid, or (not saying Doc had anything to do with it, but he does have lots of fans on his FB group)
  
• were these really interested people in the build but didn't have anything to say and voted then forgot the site?  
  

Votes do not count as a post.  If they did vote and I use the no posts no logon for 5 years, would those votes vanish, or would they become "phantom" votes?  This is why I have never considered purging people that have logged in at least one time.  I guess I could make a dummy account.  Vote then delete it to see what happens to the vote.  I may do that.

I can confirm votes become "phantom votes."  They do not go away.

If you come across old threads that people commented that the accounts are no longer here, they just come up as “guest” now. Last time I saw any of them anyways

Those are from banned accounts or accounts deleted before 2016. I don’t remove accounts that have at least one post.

I feel if you just have 1 post, and it is "hi."  That's a contribution to the forum to me and that account is safe in my book.
