Bolens 1050 tubeframe snowplow build

Yep i have the hood... But whith that 16 hp briggs the hood wont fit...

that is the same clutch setup as mine, and we have a VERY similar driveline. instead of the brake directly on the driveshaft, it looks like yours has an aux shaft out of the tranny for braking. very similar though

No, the brake drum only spins if the tractor is in gear...

Well I went out to start the old beast, and she wouldnt start and started dumpin gas all over the ground! After pulling the carb apart, i found a giant hole in the float! I silver soldered the float, and now it works great! Who knew! And yes 1997 murray i will probably start a thread if the craftsman and probably the moline puller

well good you got it fixed!if you need it I have the 9hp briggs from my simplicity that looks idenical to that 16, so if you need stuff I can bring it to the pull this saturday.

are you going to use a hydraulic pump or are you going to use a hand lift for your plow?

my 6211 has a manual lift for the plow.

The bolens will have a manual lift for the plow, probably hooked up to the old deck lift lever. And yes 1997 Murray I would probably just need the carb or float but that would be very helpful.

Well so after neglecting this post for some time lol I figure that I should get some recent pictures of the tractor. It is totally transformed lol.. now it is my main Puller.Hopefully pics up after school.

Hi, I just got a free Bolens 1050 Husky garden tractor in mint condition with plow and mower deck. It has a heavy duty Wisconsin engine. It still has the pto shaft and belts for the deck and the option for a snowblower. My plan is to leave it stock so I can use it to plow and mow, but I will be getting some 25in bear claws for the back vs the 23in stock tires and rims. Over all, it's very well built and I plan to use it as a utility tractor.  upnorthkid  Let me know any history about this tractor. Thanks.

Sorry about lack of pics.. I no longer have a computer and my phone is being ornery. Upnorthkid: The Wisconsin engine is imo the best motors ever produced. I would not, however get bearclaws. If it was me, I would make dual adapters and run duals. Also, if you cut lugs on your tires you can get way better traction while keeping the stock feel. I now have 2 of these tractors, the 1050, and it's slightly smaller brother, the g10. I am planning on using the g10 for a utility tractor.

What happened to the 532cc single?? Those singles are freakin huge, my friends dad has 2 yazoos with those single cyl on them. I really like the tractor too

It would have cost me 500$ in ignition parts and a rebuild kit. The is 13 hp Briggs is way better. Always starts instantly, and is good on fuel. And thanks btw.. lol. Usaually in the pulls I beat 1997 Murray but at the last one I picked the wrong gear and he beat me by 2 feet. I actually think that these bolens' are the perfect pullers..
