| Hi all been digging through some of the many mowers I've collected over the years. Attempting to figure out which one to play with first. 2 that I really know nothing about are the 6211 simplicity and a rear engine gravely with a cast iron Briggs single cyl. horizontal shaft Haven't found a model number on the gravely yet but it looks like a seriously heavy built unit with A PTO more like a large tractor. I am hoping you guys can enlighten me.
Still waiting on my gears from sears for the craftsman rear.

| Sorry no pictures/ no imager account.
Looked up where the numbers are supposed to be on a gravely, no joy. And now I'm not even sure it's a Briggs and Stratton engine. It does have a B&S carb though. Might be anything I'm not familiar with stuff made before the 80s. It is a single cylinder iron block with an aluminum head. Oil dipstick reminds me of an onan. Who knows what's what though someone in the past cut and pasted at random apparently. Plus it's been painted over several times to look at it. It's got a homemade looking snowplow on the front and dual wheels on the rear. I also have the deck only thing I know about it is it weighs about a ton. Lol
Back to the simplicity it's mostly original except the engine has been swapped. It also looks fairly stout built. According to the labels it got a cast iron transmission with limited slip differential. Had an 11hp now has a 12hp. I haven't even tried to see if it'll run.

| The Gravely sounds like an 800 series to me, they had a white hood on 'em. Definitely plenty stout. I think they had like a 4-speed transaxle with a forward and reverse control, kinda like a shuttle. Might be dual ranges too, I can't remember. Gravely made setup.
The one big downfall to that rig would be that you couldn't really speed it up if you were looking to do that. The Simplicty, being belt driven, would be a lot easier in that department. Although he frame, axle, steering, etc wouldn't be nearly as heavy as the Gravely stuff.
