| What's the best tuner I can get for my '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee? It's a 2wd 4.0 and I need it for better mileage (some horsepower gains would be nice too ) I'd like to keep it around $350ish and would like to have a screen with real time gauges. Anyone know if such a creature exists? | |

| I use a scangauge II on my vehicle. It's not a tuner, but it has all the real-time info you're looking for.
The best tuning really, is changing your driving habits. The scangauge will help you see the difference.
The best mpg I ever got in a Grande Cherokee, straight-6 with full-time AWD was 18mpg with average speeds of 30-55mph. You should be able to beat that because you have 2WD (less weight) and live in FL (hotter air, which isn't as dense, and flatter terrain).

Well I've changed my habits, but still want a tuner. I know of the big name brands that sell tuners, just don't know which is perfect for me

You can also use a tuner to adjust your computer on a stock engine too. Personally, I don't see any type of oil giving me any better mileage in this engine. In a newer engine, maybe, but not a straight 6

I totally agree. If you want a good tuner, you gotta fork the money. and im not sure if you'll even see a 10hp increase, or fuel mileage. Tuners are for diesels IMO.
