Alright, I got most of the exhaust mounted and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. I drove 'er around quite a bit this weekend just trying to get the carb re-tuned for this new exhaust setup, but it sounds pretty awesome to me! Let me know what you guys think!



Next, I've just got to figure out how to setup that cool exhaust tip! Hahaha!

I kind of like it the way it is. I think you should save the tip for the mtd...that would look kind of cool

Thanks! To be honest I wasn't really looking forward to trying to adapt the big resonator pipe to the small inlet of that exhaust tip, haha. So, now that you say that I might just leave it the way it is, the MTD could use a new exhaust setup anyway hahaha!

Maybe drill a hole in the side of the exhaust and add a small pipe pointing out the side of the machine at an angle, and ending just under the footboard. then seal the back of the can so its not blowing on the tire. I'm sure it doesn't make much difference though. Looks cool like it is.

Looks really good. Rough and a lot of random parts, just as a rat rod should be.

Thanks Doug! Yeah I made my own filter for the intake, seems to work pretty good so far.

Well, believe it or not I had this 'ol girl out and about today. Even after sitting outside for a few months, the old Briggs took off like a champ! I had a couple bugs I got worked out and then I did some awesome drifting in the snow! Hahaha! I definitely had a blast. Next semester I'm taking this thing in to my auto shop class to give it a bit of a re-vamp, probably some minor engine mods as well like my timing advance trick and what not, possibly a new custom front axle. We'll see what happens hahaha!

Ok it's official, the rat rod is getting loaded up and brought to school tomorrow. I will start building the new front axle soon, and probably do some minor engine mods as well. I hope to add a few other "ratty" things just to make 'er look really cool! And just for fun I took a couple pics so I could have sort of a before and after:
