Converting this tractor to a 24v speed controller setup was not hard. The winch was junk yard Free Controllers are 20$ on amazon Electric pedal was 15$ on amazon And the batteries are just what i had on hand. They could be substituted for and 24v source lawn tractor batteries, Small deep cycle, car batteries. Just to name a few possibilities.
All the parts bought brand new would have cost about $200 on the high side.

Very cool Idea.
With the winch, you should have decent power like low gear. What is your expectation for longevity for the winch motor should it be used for extended periods of time. Especially after you have more batteries attached?

I love the concept and the ingenuity you put into it. I think it's a great idea for kids. I would move the seat forward lol. I'm a little concerned that winch motor being used in continuous duty. Do you know if it's a permanent magnet or a series wound DC motor?

Judging from how much it slows after about 15 minutes of use and heats up. I am betting I burn it out in a few months of the kids using it. All ready on the hunt for a better motor idea. Debating something sprocket-ed and chain drive so I can change ratios.

Idea of being able to change ratio's sounds nice. Then you can speed it up as the kids get older! Only thing is... electric motors can start to get more pricey.
