Looking at the atltf facebook page someone posted this on our wall, a small engine efi kit, witch i haven't heard of before. The webpage says their is multiple throttle bodys, but it includes the hole kit. looks like you'd need to modify exhaust, and intake among other things. Opinions?!?! to me its very expensive as far as our hobby goes, but i wonder how much more power you'd get, how throttle response is.

It's cool and all that, but i bet you get alot of trouble starting and tuning that you would never get before.
So I'd say why bother, rather get a bigger cc engine if anything.

Throttle response would improve, and you MIGHT get a wee bit more power due to better fuel atomization. Possible better economy, too- although I wouldn't consider that to me much of a concern for these things either.

Now, in the world of offroading (rockcrawling, trails, etc) EFI offers the benefit of being able to operate at angles that would flood or starve a carb. For the most part, I've found that our carbs can continue to operate at sufficient angles to leave the rider on the ground anyways, though... LOL

All in all, I wouldn't bother. Besides... Ain't nothing like trying to troubleshoot a bitchy EFI system, especially out on the trail. A carb, I can usually sort out in minutes...

I thought it was neat, little over complicated but I was looking at it as a speed mower or racing mower setup because its probably not water resistant. I wonder if it would work better as a direct injection fuel injector instead of bug spraying it like they are now.

I have personally talked with the maker of these kits in the past and if you look them up on youtube he has a channel. He has not bothered to look into lawn tractors much because of low demand and the fact that Honda has brought them out on the market twice and it flopped. He said he would be more then willing to help me customize one but to plan on 100.00 in extras to make it work.

Fuel injection works best at rpms in between idle and wot. You won't get much of a power gain.

I like these tractors because of the simplicity.

I've seen ecotrons a few years ago when I was looking for efi on a CR500 dirtbike. In the end, simplicity of the carb won me over.
