Hello, I live near Reading PA and I've been into machines forever and I just never get tired of fixing and maintaining them.
My first tractor (circa 1993) was an 80something Dynamark with a 3.5hp Briggs (I'll wait 'til the laughing stops).
My second tractor...a '68 Suburban 12 which I bought in 1995, repowered with a catalog Tecumseh H100, and restored twice, 15 years apart. It's my plow tractor/wood hauler and all around heavy duty machine. Next is my Simplicity 5512.5 (12.5 BS Twin) which is my backup grass cutter- year unknown Then my 1992 John Deere 240 (14 Kawasaki OHV) which is my primary grass cutter- I baby it and fully expect it to be the only mower I ever own Next is my 1982 John Deere 111 (11 BS Flathead) which is simply a fine little tractor- sincerely a joy to use.
Finally, the one I keep just for riding/mudding/abusing is a 95? Crafstman (18.5 BS Twin) with Ag tires. She's heavy and has always naturally had decent traction for being unlocked. I don't care for the stock steering, but otherwise it's not a bad ride.

Time to make some serious modifications and then buy a reading anthracite pass once you get your tractor registered as an ATV that is. Your probably not too far away from there maybe. It's right around St. Clair PA. Welcome.

Wow...just checked out the anthracite pass. Thank you for telling me about it. For $125 you can ride anywhere on their property sunrise to sunset for the year. I'm about one hour from there.

Yeah I've bought a pass the last two years. But they don't want you just riding anything out there, it's supposed to be registered and insured. I think dirtbikes in pa don't need a registration but they do need insurance. Bought all I know about it. Once in a while there will be someone around in certain spots and they will ask to see your pass. Only asked me two different times but they only looked at the pass and didn't ask for registration or anything. Me and my father ride out there with dual sport bikes and I used to have a junk truck that I took out there. There's a lot of varried terrain out there, some in the open and some trails in the woods ect. Most of it is somewhat rocky and hard packed stuff because it's all been mined at one point. Lots of area to check out though.
