the jack idea is really smart, dont hook up the top, that way you can dump manually most of the time and just use the jack to help get the load moving on a real big load

Oh cool!

just make sure you can find a way to keep the shaft from turning in the tractor frame or else it defeats the purpose of having the bearings.

I hear what you are saying, it will work either way, but it is best to pivot on the bearing. I have to keep the solid stock removable so I can take the bed off etc. I need to use a lynch pin or some kind of clip to keep it in place.

Most loaders use pins that are bolted to the loader frame after they are inserted into the other pin to keep the pin from rotating.

another easy way to do it is to grind a slot or flat onto the shaft you have . Ben bolts up a keeper play tight to that to keep the chef from rotating .

The way you are building that, I don't think it would be hard to add an actuator to dump the bed in the future if you wanted.

Are you going to bolt the pillow blocks through the angle iron and the bed floor?

yeah the "bed floor" is basically aluminum foil, so ill bolt the steel angle to it. Will have to come up with some type of latch in the front, and keep it open ended to add a dump mechanism later.

Well I decided the tires im gonna use in the front, I have rims for the 4.8x4-8 AG tire like Double W did on the front of his to keep the turning easy & taller than what I have. Doing some more painting, then gonna build some running boards...

Ok the bed is finally painted and on for good...

to finish

Build some running boards
get headlights working
Get latch for holding bed down installed & working
New front AG tires
class II hitch

I think that might be it other than odds and ends, hopefully will get it done...

You hadn't touched this build in so long that I was worried that you were never going to get on it again.  I'm glad you found the motivation to get it finished before the build off ends.  It's looking good.

haha this is true, I fixed and sold a ton of tractors over the summer, but after it started raining here for what it feels like for 2 months straight things slowed down & I really want it out of the garage because its long and takes up allot of space & I want to start using it.

Personally I wouldn't have done that intentionally. I feel like sometimes the load is gonna be stuck and if you drive forward it will slide out.

thats great...

anyway got set back on my work, my run around craftsman tractor broke another axle, these things are so weak at the weld seam I am thinking about sleeving over them or just taking a piece of flat stock and covering it up.... This one is going in the trash, but they dont hold up to much.... I know a cast iron would be best I would have to find out what would be compatible...

you should get a 250 or more 12v actuator to tip and return the dump bed. i just got a 250lbs capacity actuator for my dozer blade on my build for 50 bucks and a 2 way joystick for 20 something. lifts the front of my dozer off the ground.

That is a pretty good idea, I didn't know the prices were in that range I just checked out a few on amazon.

had to take these tires to a shop, too stiff of a sidewall for me to seat the bead... anyway got them on the tractor and added some headlights.. starting to look more finished... I also blew both the headlights out first time I turned them on, the + and - from the simplicity wiring to craftsman wiring is opposite, same connector plug just plugs the opposite way than meant to.
