Got some tools from my grampa. The 3/4 inch drive ratchet with sockets that go up to 1 7/8 inch are actually usable for axle and flywheel nuts

Missed work today, had to go to the eye doctor. Wear your PPE people! Metal in your eye is no fun. Fortunately I didnt get it in my eye from grinding, but fell out of my hair when showering. Now the back of my eyelid is all scratched up and I have a week of eye drops to take.

That brings up a good point. It's not the grinding that always gets me but the stuff falling from my hair too. Last couple times I wore a cap to help that out.

Lose the hair up front and u wont have that problem.

HAHAHAHAHA... I know what it like to find shavings and chips of metal in the hair. Sometimes up to a day later... in the bed. Like, ouch whats this thing jiggin me. maybe I shoulda stayed in the shower longer...

Hey guys, explored my local junkyard looking for 700s and I found a few. Two 5 speeds were in toro rear engine riders, a 5 speed in a murray rear engine, and then a 3 speed in this little guy:


I think it could make a fun little build for my brother as a birthday present. 10 horse Briggs, peerless 700 3 speed, perfect size for a 12 year old, should be a lot of fun

That tractor looks pretty complete. That would make a good starting point for a project for a younger brother. When he gets older you guys can stretch the frame on it and modify it even more!

Naw I couldn’t stretch the frame lol. This thing looks awesome as a mini lol. Maybe a bigger Briggs single, cast iron front axle, and a live axle.

Those are solid ideas too man. I originally planned on keeping Mud Rat a short 41" wheelbase rat rod mud tractor, then somebody (AliisKidD21) talked me into doing front suspension so the wheelbase is probably going to end up being longer than the 45.5" wheelbase I have on Ol Red.

Last night I finally tackled a bad wheel bearing that was really loose and was making a lot of obnoxious noise on my saturn.  I only paid $45 for a new bearing and hub.  I've never taken a knuckle out of a car before.  The old outer race really gave my dad and I a fight and thank god he owns a press which made easy work of getting the new one in.  I saved a ton of money doing this job myself. I also manned up and did it out in the cold.

Looks like the little guy I picked up for a new project for the daughter later this year.

Looks like fun Carl. My poor Jeep is making a sound that sounded like a bearing, but I cant detect any slop in anything movement in em. Got a bad u joint in my passenger axle... Gona do both sides then I can examine the bearings up front.

Looks pretty similar mighty, is that a Foote in yours? Or the rare 700 h?

No, they are actually quite small.  They are Babydoll Southdown sheep, all are registered.  This little lamb is worth about $500.  Yeah they do, you should have seen some we used to have! Were 3 years old, never sheared once!!!  Had like 3 inches of wool lol.
