I've came to the conclusion that everything gives you cancer.......especially in California lol! But I've always used motor oil for drilling holes.

Got all the other parts completely painted!

I also made a new washer that the spring hooks to instead of painting the old one.

Besides, drill bits shouldn’t be smoking much anyway.

That looks super nice!  Great job.   Should you want to take it one tiny step further... I see all those bolts.  Maybe some of these, or something like them?  Link is just for an idea.

That looks sick!

Optionally, instead of capping the bolts, you could drive these Tee nuts into the wood
My Homemade Trailers - Page 3 Z

and then use a button head screw on the outside
My Homemade Trailers - Page 3 9k=

Whatever pokes through just grind off smooth.

Could also shorten up whats poking through and add those fancy acorn nuts.

Thanks guys!

Yeah I'll probably do something about those bolts sticking out, I feel like they're going to get caught on everything including my shirt. But I do like all the ideas, gives me some options.

If you used locknuts, I would just cut the bolts off flush with the nut and grind smooth.

So the entire time I was building this thing I was also filming the entire process and I've been editing as I go! This made the whole project take longer but I had fun making it and I hope at least a couple people will find it interesting to watch!lol! It's a pretty long video so I don't expect everyone to watch it all the way through but if you want to see the entire process on video here it is!  My Homemade Trailers - Page 3 2731072446

In case you don't want to waste 38 minutes of your life watching someone else build something or don't want to hear my rambling I made a shorter video without any talking in it!  My Homemade Trailers - Page 3 2731072446

Put some new tires on my trailer a few months ago. Been using it for a year with a blown out tire so went on Amazon and got the cheapest solid rubber tires I could find. Worked out good, came with bearings for both 3/4 and 5/8 axles.

@BlakeGroce nice I just put some never flats on a nice craftsman poly tow behind cart I got dirt cheap in a trade. I paid $54 for a couple of 13" tall gorilla cart wheels that fit onto it nicely. What did you pay for those?
