Locked the rear differential by installing a solid 3ft axle and welding it (the best I could) to the bull gear. Also attached a few pictures to show a general idea of what it is hopefully going to end up looking like.

Cool, what's the plan for rear suspension? Are you planning on somehow hinging the transaxle or are you gonna have a separate axle and run drive chains? I figured by how far your axles are sticking out you were probably gonna put the wheels right on them. What's your plan for the front?

I am planing on using the trans-axle as a pivot point for the separate rear axle connected by a swing arm. Where the wheels are sitting is about where they will end up being mounted. The front will be A-arms.

I just picked this blaster up yesterday, took the picture right before I left the sellers place. I am probably going to use it for parts if I determine its not worth restoring. There is a lot wrong with it and the whole bottom half is full of water, currently one solid chunk of ice inside it. Having this will make this build much easier.
I still have to make custom hubs, the wheels I have came off an UTV and I cant find hubs that will fit them that don't cost $200 a piece.

Some perspective. Won't actually be able to use this rear swing arm because it's not wide enough, I would need to use an idler sprocket and the drive sprocket ishorse - Wheel horse B165 - Full Suspension (work in progress) Img_2016
not in the right position. of course all of that could be fabricated but it's more than I want to do and it would be easier just to use a different one that I have.

Unfortunately my build has hit quite a pitfall, I don't think It will be able to recover from this.

Wow, burned so hot the transaxle melted onto the vice. I hate it for your loss.

sorry to see that, it really sucks when something like that happens, but as long as you're ok then it's just a set back not a project killer, i'd check over the frame and parts you have left, see what is salvageable, clean them up and start over, i know it seems like it's a total loss, but it can be saved as long as the frame is ok, i know you'll need a new transaxle and maybe an engine, but a mst will slip right in place of the 801
