Found a sweet deal on an older unit. Guy doesnt know what year is it. Overall fair condition. No hood. Square fenders with stick on red reflectors. 42" deck and a Kohler 18HP twin cylinder. Guy wants 50 bucks for the whole machine. Going to check it out tomorrow. Anyone have any idea what I'm gonna be looking at? Did the older craftsman tractors have Kohler twins on em? Or is that a swap? Either way, if that thing even has decent steering gears I'm buying it. I was just getting ready to pay 70 bucks for new steering gears for mine. I'd definitely pick up a whole parts unit for 50 bucks. Seems like a great deal.
Well I didn't really know what I was buying, just knew it was a steal at 50 bucks for a running machine, or so I'm told. Still haven't fired it up myself. But since it's an older unit and everything is different, I guess I'm fixing them both and running 2 machines.
