I have a few divets in the axels from rust on a peerless 930. I have polished them so no burrs. but I would ideally like to fill it without losing the temper of the shaft. is there something like babet or other soft metal that I can fill it with and how would I do so? I am including a picture if the site lets me lol.axle repair help 20210810

If it is all confined inside the transaxle, I would not worry about it.  If you are worrying about leaking out the ends, maybe red label JBWeld?

I think I agree with the JB Weld thing. Soft solder would do it, but don’t get it too hot.

How deep are the scratches? Fingernail catch?
