I’m going to have to pick one of those up! Never hear of a pin vise but looks perfect for drilling jets lol, tomorrow is payday so planning on picking up some 10” diameter ducting to cut up and make what will basically look like a massive carb hat to mate up to the hood scoop

So I decided to just take a look in the ole work truck, and came up with an idea that’s simpler than ductwork. All I did was cut to length some double T bottom seal for a garage door and used an adhesive to attach it to the shroud. I have some metal work to do on the hood to make it line up properly but it’s a great start. Also upped the main jets a size and it runs even better, hopefully it’ll cure the heat problem. We will find out tomorrow lol but that’s it for this episode of the Misadventures of ZSmachines lol lt1000 - Craftsman lt1000 drift build - Page 2 E37cae10

Well the garage door bottom seal worked for a couple days, then got sucked into the fan and shredded. So back to square one. I did header wrap the exhaust and that helped quite a bit with under hood temp, didn’t realize how much heat that exhaust radiated. lt1000 - Craftsman lt1000 drift build - Page 2 61cf1110

Guess you had good suction happening! Lol. Your original plan to use ducting should hold up though!

Well no matter what I did, couldn’t get the stock carbs to work the way I wanted, so I ordered a set of 26mm mikuni knockoffs. Finally got it running with them today, still definitely needs tuning but throttle response is so much better and it starts right up instead of having to crank for a while.
