i have a job again start working tomorrow. so i might be keeping my mower and starting this again. i think i decided on kenda bear claws as my cheap tire swap as i cannot find ags in the size range im looking for... i want to tranny swap this and put a 5 speed under it with a pulley setup to try and hit 30-35 mph eventually if i get the chance

anyone have comments or suggestions on running a 4wheeler engine in my mini buggy? like what size would be good for a 1 seater? im looking for 30-40mph as top speed instead of 60-70 because i want as much torque as possible. and i might do that on this and build in a live axle into the frame. or another future build.

Rockymountainatv and im probably gunna save the 4 wheeler engine for a different build when im better at welding and have money saved up to do what I want. When I get to the 4 wheeler engine it'll be doing around 50mph on a custom steel tube frame with full suspension. Sticking to the twin mower engine with a 700

thanks to the infamous doc sprocket. i know have rear suspension designs made out long swing arm in the rear with a frame extension up for my spring mounts. possibly dual coil overs one on each side. long springs mounted back for as much suspension travel as possible. swing arm mounted on the sprocket jackshaft. 1" shaft for jackshaft with pillow blocks and probably flange bearings for the swing arm. or maybe something like this

You got it. You'll have to mess with spring positions for optimum spring rate. Largely depends on what you get. Cheaply, you could use the rear coilovers from an '80's motorcycle.

well i was debating on using atv front coilovers for the soft spring rate but as you said id have to play with it a little. there is a formula for it but i dont know the formula to find the proper spring rate. id also need a bump stop to keep from maxing out the spring and binding it up tho. another thing would be how to mount my front suspension. i think i have that figured out but i wont know till i have the buggy being put together and the front end off an atv to use. i want to angle it some to adjust for the forward stance of the buggy and to help with the shocks by rotating the assembly so the shocks lean back from the wheels some

You're probably best to mock up the stance, and then adjust the caster so that it will be about 10* off the road (NOT the chassis).

Is there a gear box like a 700 I can get that may be high low gear also that way I have a wider power range depending on circumstances? Or would a 5 speed work fine?

700. Lotsa ratio possibilities, and you can remove gearsets, too if you wish to.

Ok because I want a first gear as low as possible. For the tough moments that I just need to crawl around. And a good middle range for mudding and high range for getting places

original build is back from the dead. what would be a good starting size set of sprockets to run on a 3 speed 700 or similar model tranny/gearbox to achieve around 12-15 mph
