is there any way u could shorten ur belt for a quick fix? with outhaving to buy another? Thanks

nope... not reliably I mean, yeah, there are belt repair kits available in the mechanical industrial catalogs, but they cost more than a new belt

Well- you can effectively shorten a belt by installing an idler pulley to take up some slack. However, under most circumstances I would consider this counter-intuitive.
