Im looking for some help deciding what to do with the fuel solenoid on my 17 hp Intek Briggs OHV, which is on my Wheel Horse Racing Mower. I am planning on running a switch, but im not sure how to. And im not to big on chopping the tip off because Ive heard that it can actually prevent backfire. What do you guys think? Switch?

just put 12v dc to it from the battery to run, turn the switch off to kill it.
