I like the build. Nice lights, I am jealous. Those are some pretty big tires for that transmission, what size are they? I would lock it.

Cheers muckmud, the tyres are 24x12x10, they are just what I had on hand, I think the trans will be getting locked solid axle conversion and whatever else gets recommended in between now and then, cheers for your input.

Dang if those look big i picked up some 26 inch tires but no rims. I hope they aren't to big

I had a set of 25's on it before as mock up and were not much different, sizes seem to vary brand to brand also.

back into the Murray today while I had the chance, first pic is just a quick look at some profiled steel pieces I salvaged from the local motorbike shop, used for shipping crates for the bikes etc, all free and some handy shaped pieces for brackets etc, as you can see I used some to finish off the battery cut out and add some strength back into it.

all stitched in and cleaned up, I managed to get a start on the battery tray also,

battery relocation all done, now it sits where the original fuel tank was mounted, now to fix that issue, lol, my own worst enemy.

battery fitted, bracket made and mocked up with the opposed twin in place to show clearance.

You are doing a bang up job! Very nice.

Looks very clean! With a coat of paint you wont even be able to tell you made any changes without comparing it to another mower

cheers to all for the comments, the gas tank will be under the seat, but not the original one, I have a 12 litre unit coming, that's around 2.7 gallons, heres hoping it fits in the tunnel, measurements say yes but you never know when buying off the net.

had a play around with the clutch pedal today, re configure it so it doesn't rub the belt like it used to and to install and remove with the new ladder bars etc, also this will be made to work with the new double pulley clutch system I am fabbing for this beast next.

so I tightened up the slop in the original pivot points and made it a 2 piece set up, it's a lot sturdier now and way less play than original,

cheers, getting there slowly, the want to drive it keeps me going, lol

return spring added and that's it for the clutch for now. The rest will have to wait until the transaxle is fitted into the new position for belt alignment etc, so on that note we move to the back end.

the first 2 pics show how far I have moved the trans rearward, basically the front mounting holes on the trans have been moved to the original rear mounting holes on the mower,

I used this piece of 1/4 inch steel plate to cut some pieces for the extensions to be welded to the chassis, plenty thick enough and left enough out the back to attach the bash plate etc to down the track.

woo hoo, it's parts delivery day, long range fuel tank set up to be installed. 12 litre fuel tank and electric fuel pump.

not sure if this is where it's final destination will be yet as I am still tossing up some seat suspension options, one of which could need the rear space under the seat yet, in that case the tank will move forward and a filler will be installed in the body of the mower somewhere.
