Yeah, right now the only problem I'm having is if I go too fast in thick stuff the belt slips. So I dunno what to do about that.
The 990's lack of a muffler is ridiculously annoying, so I finally got this thing hooked up.
It's the stock muffler off the 110. It's got the whole U-bolt clamp set up. I need to put a brace on it holding it up, and a raincap on it, but that's if I decide to go with it. It really almost doesn't help at all unless I'm at idle.
The only real advantage to it is it looks quite a bit better. So I might stick with it. We'll see.

Hmm, it's running backwards. Would it maybe quiet it a bit better if it were the other way?

No, I'm pretty sure it's on right....

Oh whoops, the clamp slots on the outlet threw me off. That's odd that it's slotted on both, maybe a tip of sorts was meant to me clamped into the outlet or something?
My bad!

Haha, yer fine. Yeah, it is kind of odd. I'm planning on putting a rain cap on it just because. I don't think there was a tip on it from the factory, at least there wasn't when I got it. This is a picture I took before I even loaded it and brought it home.
You can see it poking through the side of the hood. That hole always bothered me. Someday when I get a welder I'll probably patch it up.

Well this happened.
I'm guessing it was just a huge vibration crack.
Then this happened.
Yeah, so I got a welder. Crazy huh? No, you can't see it because it's the cheapest welder on the market. Literally. But it sticks metal together. I've got a few future projects planned, we'll see where they lead.

Good job. New skill to build on. It'll get better.

Hahaha, nice job! Some of those welds don't look too bad really, some pretty decent penetration on a couple.
Looking forward to seeing some sweet homemade implements now!

Hay, so for those wondering, the K181 will still be built! I'm getting a new shop soon, there's a bunch of stuff going on in my life. The shop is already built, it's an old barn, we just need to run power to it and put a floor in it. Right now I'm not taking on any major projects, I'm working in like 1/8 of a car port next to my mom's Land Rover so I've got to be super careful, lol. I've just got enough room to get the 990 and the swisher to limp along for the next few months so that I can keep the pastures mowed.
Yeah, I'm certainly going to be doing that. I also need to build a weight rack for the front of it too. Exhaust, a bunch of stuff like that.

what the hell? is that your first welds? it took me more than 6 months to get mine looking like that. once i came up with the idea of zigzagging back and forth.

Yeah, they're like my forth or fifth welds. I practiced a little bit first. I kinda got some tips from YouTube, that's where I've learned to do pretty much every skill that I have.

Thanks, yeah they could certainly be worse is what I was thinking, lol.

So my Dad finally got rid of his piece o' crap Honda minivan, and he found this the other day.
He was constantly swamping his horn, and after a few times, the horn would quit working. So he kept this one as a spare, and now it's mine! Going to throw it into the pile of parts to wire into this thing someday, lol. I'll have to do some exhaust work to get it so you can hear the horn, but I need to do that anyway.
Took 'er for a bit of a spin last night!
Then in the middle of it I joined the voice chat in RockeyDA's server and blew everyone's ears out.
I do need to get to wiring this thing, I think I have almost all the parts. I would like to get a heavy duty ignition solenoid though, instead of using a regular LT one. But I have like 5 working light-duty solenoids, so I probably will just use one of those.

Yep. I've heard them called both, but come to think of it, starter solenoid is what it actually is. lol
I got a wild hair yesterday and wired it up. lol
It's only half wired up, the charging system isn't hooked up yet. But that shouldn't be too difficult.
The solenoid I ended up using is actually the solenoid that came with this tractor. I'm not sure if someone changed it at some point, but if it is the factory one, that's pretty cool. I thought that it was bad for some reason, but it turns out it's not. So I used it for "old times sake" and because it's a 3 wire solenoid, and all the other ones I had were 4 wire, and I didn't want to do more work than I had to.
Went on another wild hair and wired up the horn. The only thing I see myself using it for is there is one neighbor that whenever she sees me out in my tractor, she honks at me, kinda to say hi. Now I can honk back lol. It's loud enough that you can hear it when it's running, but it's not like you're going to sneak up on someone with this tractor and then honk to let them know you're there.
Lemme know what you think!

Good job. That 990 starts right up.
Little beep beep horn! LOL

Thanks! Yeah, it was cold, no choke, throttle at idle. This engine has always run like a million dollars.
Yup, lol. It's kinda a cute touch, I think.

On the all terrain tractor, when I went to Haspin, I seen the safety aspect of a horn. At home, I have an old Chevy horn on blue mower, It is useful to get attention if I need help or just run off the neighborhood dogs. LOL

Haha, nice. The engine usually does a good job of running off dogs and stuff though, haha.

So I've had one of those pull-behind AgriFab aerators for a while, and it was always kinda hard to use because it didn't pull straight behind the vehicle. So, I modified it for a 3 point hitch instead!
It had a way to set 2 cinder blocks on top of it and use them to weigh it down, but needless to say that never worked very well. Right now, with the downward pressure of the hydraulics, it penetrates better than it did before, but it's still not enough weight. I'd like to have a giant water tank on top of it, or something equivilant. But it should work good like this.
