Latest news! Very little amount of parts left to paint. Out of blue and only 2 cans left of black. Bought Walmart out last week and they have yet to restock. Not looking good.

Maybe the next closest Walmart? I know WM seems to carry different shades of colors than hardware stores. For instance my walmart carries Rustoleum Cobalt Blue, while the hardware stores carry Sail Blue. You are also using Krylon if I remember right. I know some hardware stores here only carry house brand or rustoleum or vise versa.

Oh yeah were back in business. Bought out a Walmart 2 hours away. We was up there for something so not that big of a deal to swing by. I can always return what I dont use. I kept finding a paint online with the same name Krylon Fusion All-In-One Gloss Patriotic Blue but it wasn't the right looking blue and the paint code was off. That even goes for Walmart online. Could be something no longer sold and once the sell out there no longer gonna restock?

Probably because it is "patriotic" but I digress. I had them discontinue "sky blue" on me once for a project I had back in High School. Frame is looking good!
Even though I literally torn down and painted this 2 months ago I wasn't pleased with it. The paint scheme of the rest of the tractor wouldn't go good with the white. Jut to much white going on. This blue and black is the bomb. Gotta touch up in a spot or 2 but over all its awesome. Gonna pickup a new kevlar belt tomorrow.

Pulley swap time then I can start to reassemble the whole tractor. Shaft driven to a gear box them belt to the transaxle. At the moment well it had a 4" or 4.5" gear box pulley that was a Variable speed pulley and a 6.5" transaxle pulley. What I'm going to is go with a 4.5" gear box pulley if they make them. They probably dont so I'll have to do a 4". No clearance between the pulley and clutch pulley for a 5". Transaxle will be a 3". Yes I should be doing a 4" for more belt grip but its gonna be slower then a turtle either way. Its hitting 3mph in 4th gear. If I cant go bigger on the gear box I gotta go real small on the transaxle. If it's real back I'm go up a inch. But not much I can do. Any thoughts on what speed I'll get out of this? These are old photos. Everything it painted now.

Piece by piece of coming together. I'll have that the wiring tires and rims dismounted for paint and I'm positive it will be rolling and running by this weekend. The police swap I wasn't able to go any bigger than a full wrench on the gearbox and that stock size but what I've had to do is seriously drop the lower pulley size do a two and a half and I still believe it's not going to be with a hit 15. Good thing about this set up the belt really wraps around that 2 inch pulley compared to others set up. The gearbox clutch pulley and transaxle are in the perfect spot so I honestly don't think there's going to be that much don't slip it if any. Boat Loader Springs maybe retainer pulley. Video will be released this weekend and it will be completed back together and running. https://www.youtube.com/c/HillbillyOffroading

There was one thing I forgot to do before I tore it down for paint. I forget to figure out a seat suspension setup. Had to drill holes in freshly painted parts. Good note was a husqvarna LGT2554 seat flip up worked. Went through 5 parts tractors to find the right set up to adapt to the wards. Drilled 3 holes for the flip up and 2 for the spring last night. Just need to paint the springs blue and that part is done. Gained 2" or 2.5" more clearance. Very comfortable unlike befor with my knees jammed up high and being so close to the lugs of the vamps.

All the body is back to gather. Wiring is almost done. Next on the list is weld up some brackets for the foot boards and start running choke, throttle, and override throttles cables.

Ok so its been awhile since I last updated. Haven't touched it in over a month. I have a new brake band lining for it now and looking at some new front rims. I'm not wanting to put much more money in to this build so I'm gonna get 10x6 5 lug rims to make my 22x9x10 Super Swamper TSLs off the other rig work for front tires. Bought a $15 light bar for the grill. Weld in some brackets and should be good to go.

Messing around with exhaust ideas on the '72 Montgomery Ward. Big ol rancher 420 muffler, dual exhaust and dump it right at the foot boards, or dual exhaust and run it straight out the rear. Ive got big clearance issues with the engine sitting sitting sideways between the frame rails. Updraft carburetor on the one side and starter generator hanging of the other side of the block.
On top of it trying to clear the steering and articulation with the exhaust. Lack of space eith this build. Took some measurements yesterday gor people asking of FB for size comparison. With the rear tires aired up all the way were looking at 43" rear stance, 36.5" to the top of hood, 27x12x12 Vampires are reading 28.5 X 11.5 at 7psi / 27 X 13 at 3psi, and 18" of center frame ground clearance. Will be working on getting a video up this weekend on YouTube. Hillbilly Offroading on YouTube
