So the Vtwin runs great 3/4 throttle and less. Starts to pop past that. I checked the valves and they are in spec and moving in and out just fine. At a little loss there at this time.
A little teaser of things to come.
Fender isn't bolted down yet. I still need to cut the old bent wheels off so I can put the newer ones on this weekend hopefully.

I have this same problem with my intek, I put A whole brand new ignition system, cleaned the carb, all that stuff and it still does that from time to time

No comments on the paintjob... this is a 10-20 foot look. LOL
Taillights and brakes wired up and can be disconnected when I remove the fender pan.

Got the rims off. Don't think I could have pulled the right rear with a puller. (The one I broke my wheel puller on.) I could have probably got the left off with some fight. I did go ahead and cut the wheels off. I cut a slit then used an air hammer with a chisel to widen the slit and hammer it off.
back left: just a tiny nick in the axle. No big deal.
Back right: Again a small nick and some super minor scratching from the air hammer in that same line. This one was pretty rust welded.
All cleaned up and ready for new wheels. I'll put some anti-seize before I put them on.
I should have my wheels on Thursday evening. I have the fender pan now bolted down and the brake and go pedals back installed as well as the rubber foot mats.

I'm frustrated and annoyed. The VTwin is headed out. Opposed 18 is going to find its way in.
I've messed with this engine all week and i've gotten nowhere with it. Guess it needs a full overhaul. Not ready to pull that trigger on this engine for that yet.

Opposed 18 ready to go in. Need to pull the vtwin. I should try to get a new lower belt before I install the opposed. Only issue I see, other than needing exhaust, is the starter is on the other side of an opposed. Not sure the cable is long enough.

Thanks... So, new lower belt installed. May be an inch too big. We will see. The engine is installed, wired and spruced up a little. All I need now is to find the MTD style opposed pipes for exhaust or make my own. I do plan on backing off this a tiny bit. I may jump back to The Dirty Rat. I think I have figured how to incorporate the winch on it without it looking too out of place.
All else fails. I can use some steel pipe since performance isn't an issue with this build. Just function.

Sorry for the lack of updates on this build. I was able to fix the 14.5 Briggs. Needed a carb swap. It needs the jet drilled one size larger, but I do not have any drill bits that small. It idles fine and runs 1/2 to 3/4 throttle well, but the other areas seem to need more fuel as choking levels it out.
Wife has used it a few times so far to haul her crafts to the neighbor's.
