Phase 2 is well underway.  Not sure if you noticed the hood popping up and down in the last video, but that has now been resolved!

Also, no more skinning the back of my hand on the parking brake rod!

On a side note, looks like an updated Windows 11 machine can now rotate images right there in file explorer with a right-click. Left or Right Rotate Image. Excellent, no more pulling into paint or photoshop.

I believe the rod on the GT is a 5/16th.  Not 100% sure.

It's looking really good @MightyRaze nice work! I'm really digging those tires and the stance. Did you happen to get a official top speed reading?

Doing some eyeballing for foot throttle. I like having dash too, but that looks to be a little more complicated with the Kohler. The springs appear to work backwards from what I am use to on a Briggs. 2 options to having a foot throttle. 1 eliminate the dash or 2 get creative. This should be interesting.

Maybe, it is definately an option.  Right now I am thinking on the lines of the FearlessFront method on his diesel Sears.  I know @Crazy_Carl has one too, but I just need to find it.  Not sure if he did it on Ol' Red or Red Stag.

I like options.

OK after much thought.  I think I have a plan.

Reroute the throttle to the other attach point on the other side of the engine.  Bring the foot throttle around the same way.  Attach both at the X.  Then make a block with 2 hole passthroughs, or try 2 cotter pins through the lower throttle holes at the 8.  They have to be free to move back and forth through those holes.  Then on the backside, use a cable stop on each cable O.   I think this way I can set a throttle with the dash, and I can pull with the foot throttle when I need more power.  I can put a return spring on the top side where the throttle connects now.

Working on a gas pedal for Marshal today in the short time I worked on it today.

[c] [24] Mighty's Marshal - Page 6 Img_3537

[c] [24] Mighty's Marshal - Page 6 Img_3538

Had the gokart pedal, but made the base from the mtd seat mount and the spring I think is a clutch spring for something.  Can't remember.  Right now the base is drying from painting.  I should have it remounted back later tonight.  Just need my cable.  I'll probably remove the dash throttle at that time in prep for a longer cable.  One on it now is no where near close enough to make it around the other side of the tractor.

Dash throttle is out and the old cable is removed from it.  New cable should be here tomorrow.

[c] [24] Mighty's Marshal - Page 6 Img_3539

The base I made for the foot throttle is painted and put back together.  Also waiting for a cable that I should have tomorrow.

[c] [24] Mighty's Marshal - Page 6 Img_3540

Sorry, camera was in portrait mode I guess.  Base came out blurry.

Well, the idea works great until my dash throttle falls out of the crimp. There is a grommet that I didn't cut off that is causing the issue. Other than that, if it stays in, it appears to work GREAT!

Good idea with the cotter pins as swivels! I've done the same thing on my Ditchbanger quad with great results.

Dash throttle falls out of the crimp... at the control handle?  It looks like you have one flexible cable (to the gas pedal?) and a solid cable hooked up to the same point which I just don't see working unless you cut the solid wire and make a slider/coupler fitting for it where the control side is clamped and the engine side is able to slide when you use the pedal but has a stop on the end so it will engage and also can't pull out. I honestly think your best and easiest bet is to use 2 flexible cables.

If I'm off point or this explanation is confusing I apologize.

Have you mentioned the cotter pin thing here?  I know I heard or read it from somewhere someone using them.  It's what gave me the idea.

Yes the dash throttle was falling off at the dash control.  There was a flute like grommet there that was not allowing a straight crimp allowing it to fall out. I should have took a pic of it before I cut it off.  I now have a straight crimp and it has worked 50 times not falling out so far.  Before with the grommet would cause it to fall out about the 3rd try.

Yes the foot is the flexible, the solid is the dash.  Engine side is working flawless.

Yes I think I may have, pretty sure I posted a pic in Off Topic I'll have a look.

I think I understand and also maybe how it has enough flexibility, I don't see it anchored to the motor close to the end of the sheathing which would allow it to be pushed creating the required slack when using the gas pedal.

I'll get a video of it working hopefully later this week.  The cable stops are attached past the throttle arm and grab it when either throttle is pushed leaving the other cable to slide through the cotter pin and stay in place.

Not sure if you seen the video FearlessFront made on his dual throttle on his Diesel Sears.  This works the same.

Not bad! That's actually a nice comfortable speed for a tractor, enough to feel a breeze and clear the tires! Lol.

@MightyRaze I like the go kart pedal setup I used on Ol Red. The only issue was the pedal bending on me. Which could be reinforced but I just decided to build the pedal from scratch out of some really big angle iron I had laying around.

@Crazy_Carl

I'll keep an eye out on bending.  Thanks.  I've typically made them myself as well.  Decided a different route this time.

So I have started contemplating about the front bumper.    I had a crazy idea of rotating the front stock hangers I took off by 90 degrees forward and swap sides to be part of the front bumper.  It looks like it would probably work with a couple drilled holes in the hangers.  Then I can attach my front bumper I make or repurpose.

Something to think about.

Here is my current mock up.  Toying with the idea.  Let it grow on me a bit.  See if I like it, or if it gives me new ideas.

I will need to figure out how the drop the stinger section down forward for when the hood is open, but still be strong grip point when needed.

Something I will contemplate for a while. I'd definitely have several tow points.
