Review Subforum *Added*

I have pitched this to Junkstar and a few other members already and I am now displaying it to the rest of the forum members.

What I would like to add is a Reviews section to the forum, where members can submit and write reviews for video/picture equipment, tools, online retailers, and more.

This will help other members know what items are good buys and what are duds, as well as giving the forum more chances to appear in Google results (more exposure is always good!).

Now I do have an idea of a certain way as to how it will operate, but that will be discussed should this pass. Its all up to you guys.

Thats what I was thinking. People are always looking for good camera reviews and reviews of online stores like BMI. Figured it could be useful.

yeah Doug, we talked about it last night and although I think it could be done just so (a little different than we discussed) I'm all for it. Should I start campaigning for Moderator now or later? lol... people need to know what works, what doesn't, where to get stuff cheap, who has the best parts or customer service, etc.

Very good idea! I don't know what you fellas have planned for categories, but you'd probably want one specific to related parts (tractor stuff, bearings, belts, engine stuff etc) Maybe one for related retailers (both "local" and online) and maybe an "off topic" category for cameras and other unrelated goodies.

I more wanna see a FAQ on mower stuff, like Q and A on everything. Like on the tiniest thing you take for granted.

The point of having it is so that you can do text reviews, possibly with pictures as well as video reviews if the reviewer so chooses. And you will also know what other people are using for their modding as well as their experiences.

Well yes Thunder, rules. Eh, the very least it'd be structured, but it's less formal a section than most of the others. It'd be how-to's, reviews, product assessments, build method discussions and so on. Like was stated earlier I do believe. Regardless, the rules have to be in place but fairly fluid for that section as it'd be changing topics and discussions frequently.

I was on the ol atltf Facebook page and saw this. Great idea!! I'm giving this a shove so new members and people who didn't see this another go. For me the question is not if I want it or not its when will I see this?????!?!?!

i really like this idea. i have since it was pitche but i forgot it until now.

i especially like the ide of having a how to section so people who dont always have access to youtube.

Works for me.

Let's make it happen. To keep things unscattered and simple, I suggest two subcategories: Tools and Parts, and General. Tools and Parts should be pretty self-explanatory, and pertain specifically to our hobby. General (or Other) would be computers, cameras, stereo stuff, your favourite frosty beverage, whatever.

Mainly products and vendors. Brands kind of tie in with products.

Add in Vendors to that too and it looks like that will be it.
