Okay, so found the instructions! http://www.wfmfiles.com/download/manuals/SM2088%20(01Nov69).pdf AK, you're right, that's the variable drive. The other lever on the side is the deck height adjustment. The left pedal is the clutch and brake, but IDK what the other one is. I also don't know why there are 2 throttle levers. Any ideas? Below the dash, there is the choke and the ignition. Below that is a knob, IDK what it does. Then the knob behind that in front of the seat, I'm clueless to that, too. Like I said, only tractors I've owned up to now are your basic geared lawn tractors, vertical shaft, hand throttle, no very drive, etc. Any info would be of help, lol.

I think it's a deck drive lever, blade height is on the side and one is for adjusting other is for quick raising I think .The pedal on left is probably brake and other is clutch. Mabye........

I think the right pedal is for deck engagement. That's how my wheel horse 702 was back in 1962.
For $50, buy it no matter what. The parts there are worth it. If you're really going to flip it, make sure you do a really in depth inspection on it to find everything that's wrong with it. Then figure out how much the parts would be to make it sell and what you could realistically sell it for. I'm hoping that it would be more worth it to turn it into a mud tractor. Then you could join me in the john deere club lol.

I had a John Deere stx 46, good engine but crappy unibody frame that could flex about a foot . And I had a 140 but I got it in pieces and it needed a couple hundred to get it back in a running condition ,since it was a hydro I just parted it out . I might get a Deere if the guy I emailed ever gets back to me

Well I'm hoping with this one I can just do a carb job, replace the belts, tires, etc., do a cheap paint job, and use it. Probably should change the fuel line and oil too, haha.
Worst case scenario, I could part is out for more than $50 and make some money off of it anyway. It doesn't look like it's in bad condition, its just been sitting for a while. We'll see on Saturday when we go get it.

As long as that good ol' Kohler turns over and has compression, some new fuel lines/filter, an oil change, carb clean, new plug, and points clean and re-gap will go a long way! Hope the deal works out for ya W.

Yeah I was wondering, but it could just be the angle. I also wonder how the blades engage, cause you can't see that arm past the steering wheel that the pic I found has. Like the MTDs blade engagement, in this vid.
LOL, poor guy.

Swapped out some coil overs on my mower, now it has some bounce! Defiantly an improvement to the old ones which apparently had a bad piston and was limiting the compression and expansion .
