So i went out to go get the mail on the minibike, on the way back the rod let go and locked her up. Whooooops. I think I'll get another 3hp with a good rotating assembly and do some mods and put her back together. I'd go bigger but I'm not in the mood to buy a ¾" clutch

Picked this up for $30 yesterday, guess it fits into this thread...
85 Suzuki LT250F. Previous owner said it needed a coil or something ignition related. Supposedly it shuts down when it gets hot.
First thing i did was rewind the pull start. Pulls over fine, feels like it has compression.
I pulled it over and checked spark. Seems to have some. I haven't checked compression yet. I sprayed some carb cleaner down the carb but still didn't get a fire. Guess I'm gonna check valve lash next

speaking of clutches, you can get centrifugal clutches pretty cheap if you look. I forget where I got one, amazon or BMI karts maybe. But it was way less than the $40-50 they are normally priced at. Looked decent enough too. 5hp and 3.5hp briggs have the same crankshaft I think. 5hp is a big improvement. Same mounting bolt pattern also.

So I ended up selling the ATV for $150. Couldn't ever get it to run, or even pop really. Good riddance anyways.

So i got the F11 out yesterday, realized the other side of the fuel tank is leaking now. Woo. Patched it with the welder as best i could, it's not bad now.
Today i took her for a good ride, even accidentally buried her in a foot of mud. That sucked, a lot. I noticed my headlight wasn't working, thought that a wire came loose. Turns out both filaments are broken. Just put it back together for now.

Got the minibike out a week or two ago. Broke the 3hp loose, definitely broke the rod. Whoops
I've collected 3 5hp engines in the past few weeks, not really on purpose. But that is what it is. I didn't have a 3/4 shaft clutch so i decided to go belt drive. Smallest pulley i have on the front, gt6000/633 pulley on the back. Clutch in the middle is just a flat idler, with a foot pedal on the right side. Push down to engage the clutch.
Put the newest 5hp on, hooked up the throttle ungoverned, and that was about it. Didn't take the extra fuel tank off, could use it as a spare.
Geared too fast, gotta be creative with the clutch to start it on a hill.
Top speed? 48mph. I don't stay up that high too long lol.

I guess you could put a jack shaft on it if you have the room.

I could, but once I get on the road the extra speed is really nice for cruising backroads for a long time with just a little bit of fuel. I think a killswitch on the handlebars would be nice so i can engine brake on hills. A good brake would be nice too, lol
