This past weekend was beautiful so me and my buddy took advantage of it and put the Beast along with my Cub named Hoss ! to work cutting and moving some downed trees. (future fire wood) and cleaned up my trails. plus maybe played around a bit !
got a nice haul of wood pulled out and ready to cut and split ! and i'm not sure what i was discussing in this last shot but i'd say it was something very insightful !!

Oh you lucky duck able to go woods romping in March! Lol. Love the Cub, is that a linear actuator I see up front? I also really love your trailer it's an amazing design and excellent work on it (I read the build thread for it a couple months ago), how's it been working and holding up for you?
Looks like you're saying "I'm sure I left my beer right here...." lol

Yeah 74 degrees last sat. it was awesome ! yes it is a linear actuator on the front and i also have one on the rear that runs my three point hitch which i built for it. they work great just a bit slow but they do give me down force. I used to have a winch on the front but couldn't get any down force that way. as for the trailer it's doing great and i have punished it over the last couple years. i've had it way overloaded with concrete and it go's over rough terrain with ease !

I thought this was funny. I was looking through some pics. to find some pics. of my Cub Cadet for my other thread i started (i call it Hoss !) if you look at the upper left you will see a JD. but with closer examination if you look at the tires it is really Beast in disguise ! lol

@Rustbucket Garage Well it's been a minute since i did it but not to much to how i did it. I used three or maybe even four rust oleum camo paints dark green, light green, a tan and maybe a darker tan. I'd start with a base in an area like say dark green on one fender and tan on the other. then i'd grab some differant kinds of leaves and use an oppisite color and hold the leaves here and there and spray around it then use another type of leaf and another color sometimes over lapping another leaf and just keep moving around. then in some spots i'd grab some clumps of long weeds and lay them in areas and spray over that. that's about it i got better as i went. the best part about it is you can't really mess it up, if you don't like something just go back over it.

This has been a long time coming, and it got to the point that it had to be done ! I've talked about switching the vertical oppy in the beast to a horizontal B&S and over the last week i've been making that happen and so far i'm happy with the results. there was a few head scratchers on getting the pulley/clutch set-up to work right but i think i have finally got it sorted out.

@MightyRaze Appreciate it man! but don't be too jealous at this point, I was really happy with everything on my clutch pulley set up in the shop, but after testing it I'm having some problems. even with an adjustable clutch rod, I have been through multiple belts and pulley configurations and if I get it to slip good when I clutch then the belt slips to much in 3rd and 4th. but if I get it to hook up good then it doesn't release when I clutch. But I'm working on something that I'm pretty excited about that could fix my problems. whether it works or not I'll present my results. Have to wait on a belt I ordered online as I can't keep buying them from my local farm store or I'll go broke lol!

Boy Howdy ! it's been an epic battle between me and this beast, But I'm getting the upper hand on this war. I can't believe the difference 1 inch can make when it comes to v belts. as of last night i was disappointed in how things were going and ran it through my mind all day at work. I came home with a new plan and had to reorient the double pulley bracket swap some pulleys and add a idler pulley (which caused another problem) errrrr! bolt for clutch rod was hitting bolt for idler pulley, so had to redo that. So as of now 86 inch is too long and 85 is too short. after doing some searching i found an 85-1/2 that i ordered and will have to wait a few days. But no matter it still won't be right for it to stop the belt when i clutch, so i did something to fix that problem and it works but will not revile that till I've got it all dialed in.

@Creepycrawler Thanks that makes a lot of since with the belt droop. i will definitely look in to doing something like that. as for now iv'e got it working good enough to deal with it and move on to other priorities. What i ended up doing is i installed a elec. pto and hooked it up to a relay that activates it with the clutch safety switch, which stops the belt in its tracks. however, I'm still not getting the slip i need to be able to feather the clutch right before the pto kicks on and off, so when you release the clutch its go time lol. the more i break the belt in its getting better i think that guide could be the answer to finish it up.

The new configuration ! as you can see new air induction and had to rework the exhaust, and as you can see the electric pto clutch which as you might be able to tell its on backwards. But hey it works. This will get me by for now and i will revisit the belt/clutch later when i have more time. but for now i can use it to haul my logs out of the woods and maybe play around a bit while im at it !

Digging the new filter and snorkel setup, I’m pretty sure he’s using the pto clutch as the drive pulley with a switch on the clutch pedal to make it easier to shift

Yes @MightyRaze As @Creepycrawler stated when i push down the clutch and the switch kicks the pto out the belt stops so i can shift. it works quite well other than when you let out on the clutch it grabs a bit too quick. as i said before if i could get a little slip from the belt it wouldn't be so abrupt. it is at this point just something I'm trying out and getting me by because I've got to move on. i will revisit it this winter and maybe completely redo the clutch mechanism.
