Can anyone give me imput on these transaxles? Is one better then the other? Going to be for a yard tractor but still would like to go 15 if possible and is there any videos of locking them if it's a good idea or not both vertical input pulley shaft and 3 speeds
Thank you ahead of time. Oppy 18.5 briggs powering it will plow snow have a sleeve hitch and 23x10 r 12 ditch witch tires. Hoping they are not to heavy

@mightyRaze thank you I actually have that book coming from ebay to have a better understanding of all the internals. Hoping @AllisKidD21 will be able to help me out. I have had good luck with one of my 930 seires thay I locked. Was curious on how people go about locking 801 seris with the bull ring ?? I think it's called. In my 930 I welded the pin to the gears. i just don't know how to go about it with the pin having to slide in to hold the spider gears in

I think a Fozzy lock would be the quickest, cheapest, easiest way to lock that style of diff and it's completely reversible if you're not happy with it (will impact your turning radius to some degree), find and weld a spare set of spider gears and swap em in/out as you please!

I came across some .750 shaft steel at work. So it can be a solid axle all the way through. But wondering if doc sprockets solid axle would work if I put the cross pin though and the welded it or if it would cause binding since there wouldn't be any play. Thoughts??
