Thanks Rich. Yeah I think I just need a new head gasket and a crankcase cover gasket. Maybe one for between the carb and the block too.

crazy as it sounds you could try what my grandpa did for a head gasket when he rebuilt Harley motors he would take a chunk of granite or plate glass an some 2000+ grit sand paper or jewelers cloth and mill the two surfaces flat by hand till they were flat as could be then use some high temp copper spray a gasket to make the seal used to work great on the bikes he raced

Yeah I know some people say you can use a special high temp gasket maker instead of the heat gasket, also a way to boost compression a bunch. I'll most likely just get a regular head gasket for it though, haha.

Still tinkering away here, I got the piston and rod installed and the rod bearing bolts all torqued up:

project - Honda G200 Project - Page 2 20180849

project - Honda G200 Project - Page 2 20180850

Used the original rings because I'm just sorta building this for fun, I think they'll be fine though.

Also got the points cover put back on and set the flywheel in place.

Gonna get it torqued up and then probably gonna have to get some gaskets for it so I continue keep re-assembling it.

Little more progress on the little Honda last night. I had put the tappets and camshaft in place and set the timing a while ago:

project - Honda G200 Project - Page 2 20181010

project - Honda G200 Project - Page 2 20181011

But I finally got back to it last night and made up a crankcase cover gasket so I could get 'er sealed up.

All assembled and torqued to the proper value:

project - Honda G200 Project - Page 2 20181012

Filled it with some 10w30 engine oil and waited for a bit to check for any leaks.

All good!! I let it sit over night and most of the day today and she's still dry, so it should be fine. I wanna maybe try and mess with the cylinder head a bit next, but we'll see what I end up doing, haha.

Looking good! Does it have metric threads in the crank?

Thanks. Yeah I believe the threads in the end of the crank are in fact metric. Which means I probably won't find a bolt lying around here somewhere to use. lol!

Never fear on reusing the old rings, that's the best thing to use actually since they are already the right size for the cylinder and guarantied they will seal. I build up alot of motors, always had trouble with new rings sealing right, on a rehoned cylinder, but never had trouble with the old rings sealing. Just as long as they still have tension on the cylinder bore.

Oh whoops, it would appear I've been neglecting to update the thread. My bad, haha

Either way I got the little G200 fully assembled and running good some time ago. There are a couple videos of it running on my channel.

I never had the recoil on it because the blower shroud was banged up a bit and that made the recoil sit off-center. Recently though I took the shroud off to straighten 'er out and got the recoil installed and working good!

Had it running for a bit earlier today:

It's a good little runner! Usually starts real nice too.

Quite a neat little engine. Don't really have any plans for it I guess, but it sure is fun to have around, haha.
