i got rained out half way threw but im back to trying to fix the front end, even using a firends nice drill gun, my cheepo bits could not go thre the cast iron, i would make a little progress, but was also chewing up my bit.
so were WELDING AGIN. but this time im welding with the knolage i only can make surface welds, no penetration limited stenth. so im using angle iron is bracing, and i will drawl a pic of how im putting them in, but im using the angle iron to hold things together, and welds to keep them in place, and even hold 2 pices together. TO MS PAINT!

red reperesents angle iron, yellow represents welds. already got the angle iron in and 1 pice welded in, the gaps tight enough i had to hammer the angle iron in.

so goals as of now! 1. fix dashbord and hood using welded up steel plates and dilling holes for bracing. 2. get a non working kholer starter i have laying arround to work. 3. fit a battery were it would go (shifters in way) and give this thing an electric start already.
when im not super broke bigger pully swap.

AND BACK TO RETIREMENT SHE GOES! i fixed the grill, was getting some angle iron for the dash, on the ride home i suddenly bogged down and stalled out. could got get any life wide open throttle rope starting. so poped air filter off. it was so flooed it was about to spill out of the intake.
the carb always had a leak that made me run to rich and now the spill way has opend. and the crazy stong fuel pump made me have to drive with the fuel off, then on for 1 second, then off about 25 or when ever it statted to sound like it wanted to stall. if i left it on over 3 seconds, game over, even if i shut it off, its gonna dump fuel like crazy.
that fuel pump is so strong i had to put my shut of ahead of the fuel filter, it crushed it like a juce box, and its one of the ones with a metal base.

Wow, that sounds pretty crazy. You might want to look into a pulse pump, it is powered by the engine's pulse, and it pumps faster when the engine is going fast, and slower when your idling.

all the seals in the carb are crackly and break if you try to move them. float main seal are holding up. but o rings are basically peanut brittle.

Are you sure that the fuel pump isn't getting too much power or something similar?

ok, this tractor went for its first real trail ride with its current setup. it was a huge fail, i was loosing all my HP to belt slip to the point in the deep mud, second gear slipped to much.
i might do 1 more pully swap and maby play with cluch setup. but i think the ford is going beltless down the road. maby that can be a 2020 build off thing. make the ford not suck.

maby i could use one of thoes tractor drive shaft PTO cluches they sell at TSC and mount it right to my crank, put a sprocket on the end of it, have a chain going down alittle, jack shaft, chain running in belt area, jack shaft, chain running to sprocket that would be offset becase they way the 2300 is on the ford. would not be cheep setup.

here is a video of how it performed, its a shame, the ford is my best mudder. but between bad trans seals and belt slip it sucks to mud.

Belts are pricey. Even more so I'd you need a 5/8 belt.

and making the front pully bigger without chaining the cluch makes it were i cant have good grip or slip at the same time, holding in cluch smokes belt. but the thing is useless in the mud from slip. thogh that pully on the trans is horrible and i cant swap it unless i redo whole belt setup becase of the pully shape
