| I was just looking through some stuff trying to find a light weight alternator after discovering that ARC's billet flywheels don't have any charging magnets. Saw this on amazon. It's a small alternator that puts out 14amps (12 volts). There is also a 20amp model for a bit more $$$. It's supposed to weigh 3.5 lbs. I'm trying to find out what the dimensions are but it looks small. Just thought it might help someone out if they wanted a small alternator to fit their project. Car alternators can be pretty big. Tiny AlternatorIf I end up ordering one, I will post some pics to show the size better. They look pretty cool. Guess they are for a kubota engine. Also looks easier to make a mount for it than a car alternator. | |

| Yeah I've seen ads for those little units a bunch of times and they always seemed like a perfect compact little unit. I thought you could even use one for a vertical shaft engine really, being that they're so small.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it works for ya! | Wow, that is small. Is it internally regulated? | |

| Never mind. Seen the regulator on the bottom of the page for it. | |

| I guess you need to run a regulator yeah. I'm thinking that's the way to go for my new build though if I run an ARC flywheel. Too bad they don't just have the charging magnets in their flywheels though. I heard the stock briggs charging coils only put out like 3 amps? So this would be a step up anyway. | |

| I almost had one of these, the one on my friend's kubota seized and he bought a new one. I didn't think to ask for it before he threw it out. If only. | |

| As far as I can tell, it is only a magnet on the pulley and a stator. Would like to see how the stator is made. | |

| Thanks. It's not like having a car alternator maybe, but might be better output than the stock system. If I get one later on I will check it out with a meter and see. | |
