I’m glad to have our local guy then. We were going in to pick up one of the vehicles (can’t remember which one) and the guy ahead of us was getting new tires, and he asked how much he owed for the alignment. Mechanics reply, “It didn’t need it.” Small thing, but always nice to see that kind of honesty.
Also browsing marketplace I saw something that will most likely infuriate the JD and Cub Cadet guys... this is...interesting I suppose.

Luckily enough I've only broke down twice and both were at school. First time I completely sheared the driveshaft in half getting rowdy in purple lot. That was pretty embarrassing, the driveshafts in my truck are only about 2 inches in didiameter and have very weak U joints. Figured out the weld was already cracked before I broke it because the crack was rusty inside. GM didnt have v8 driveshafts for long bed 1/2 ton trucks (or atleast mine doesnt) so they just used straight six driveshafts (I'm guessing). One day I'll put a beefy center support bearing and get some bigger driveshafts made. The other time I broke down my clutch decided to give out about 100 yards from purple lot. It wouldnt move at all just made bad noises and smelt like burt clutch material. Ended up being towed the rest of the way by my buddy. I actually ddrove it oon the trailer which was crazy. Firgured out it was slipping because my valve covers were leaking and it coated the clutch in oil which would slip when it got hot.

I actually thought about one day putting it in our geo tracker but I really dont know what that would take. I know these are all mechanical which is nice and I'm sure I could come up with some sort of adapter plate and motor mounts. I just dont know alot about diesels.
It's a four cylinder out of a 1976 Mercedes, not sure on the model but I think it was a 200d making this a OM615 (I think ) so it's either a 2.0 liter or a 2.2 liter but either way it only makes 55-60 hp (which is less than the 80hp Suzuki) but it makes 93 lb ft which about the same as the Suzuki. I know that doesn't seem like a good swap but everyone around here wants those Suzuki motors and we,re all out of spare motors. Plus its free!

I know that before long someone will talk about how Powerstroke/Duramax/Cummins is “better” Sorry, couldn’t help myself with that one. She run? Cool diesel there

talking about weird swaps i thnk it would be fun to swap a ford 7.3 idi into something for the fun of it
I've always thought it'd be cool to 7.3 swap my F150. I really love the truck and no payments on it, but it's got the infamous 5.4 and it's running strong for now, but it'll definitely need a new engine someday. People usually swap another 5.4 in or a 5.0 Coyote but I think it'd be really cool to upgrade the front struts then put a 7.3 or a 5.9 Cummins in it.

I’ve thought of a Honda k20 Awd setup in a vibe, building an Awd W body impala with the Awd trans from a minivan, turbo 2.3 or 3.0 duratec in my ranger, a SHO v6 or v8 swapped ranger, 2.8 cummins ranger, not to mention the 5.0 SBF I plan on putting in mine. Also talked about putting the v10 in my buddys 01 f150 7700.
Or the 3.8 swapped impala I have, or the 5.3 swapped 89 Chevy I’m in the process of putting back together, or all the other wild ideas I’ve forgotten over the years

im suprised more people dont build mtds like 95 or newer, my troy bilt is a 98 and its build like a tank, its tough and has taken tons of abuse by previous owners not taking care of it and me romping on it. all the mtds ive owned have been abused and still run and drive just fine of course the hoods fall off and stuff. also mine has the steering that sits lower than the belt drive and i used a craftsman deck pully and drive pully and welded them together and the thing rips. 1000% my favorate mower brand but the intek briggs i keep getting all have compression release issues whats up with that?

Camshafts. The compression releases just break off. No why or how to it, they just are just better suited to fertilize a field if you get what I’m saying You just have to pull the sump out and change the cam. Hope that helps.
Also with the engine swap discussion- one of my future projects is to get an itty bitty snapper RER and swap in a souped up oppy briggs (billet flywheel and rods, governor delete, glass pack and dual stacks) and add in a peerless 700 and pulley swap the snot out of the thing and see about hitting 30, lowering the body down in line with the axle with a go kart sort of stance. Can’t do it right now cause no cash but hey, I can dream eh?

figure it out it refused to start yesterday and it turns out the starter gave up entirely barely would turn it over. always got hot fast. i took a starter off my other intek and it has a metal startergear instead of plastic no it starts so easy, im gonna do a valve adjustment and the valvecover gasket blew out yesterday so i gotta fix that. and i paid 40 bucks for a pair of parts mowers one has complete all wheel steer... time for a 4wd build... or the rear end is probably going up for sale soon

+1 on that. Definitely adjust the valves before pulling the engine.
Also it's not really a good idea to use a metal starter gear if the old was a plastic one, because the flywheel ring gear could be plastic and the metal starter gear will tear it up eventually.
