May 12th 2021, 10:03 am I did figure out what this thing (transaxle) had in it from the factory I think. Like I mentioned it was thick sticky and had a green tint. Didn't smell like gear oil, but was familiar. Well I chopped down some shrubs that died due to the extreme cold this winter.... I ran into some thick, sticky, and green tinted oil when I cut them down. I'm pretty certain this thing was filled with bar and chain oil.

I have given up on the trans axle. I put a bead of RTV black gasket maker around it and loosely put on the screws. I'll tighten them tomorrow.

Look at it this way: I have never laid a single bead or even struck an arc so you are better than me and a lot of other people by default.

May 17th 2021, 10:17 pm Pulled out the pressure valve and inserted a barbed nipple on the transaxle. I figured, should I ever go submerged with the trans, the heat of the trans will pop the valve and when it cooled would suck in water when closing. I will run a hose to under the seat. That will give me about 10 more inches height, and put a fuel filter on it.

I realized I have the tires clocked on the wheels identically. Not sure if that is good or bad. Just interesting I guess.

@Creepycrawler !
I was going to lay the fenders back down so I could walk away from the tractor so I can stay under the 50% rule for next year. I noticed some stress cracks around the seat mount holes. In the past I always nasty booger fix or blow holes right and left. I have some thin 6013 rods from my old 110 welder laying around. Put my cable in the lower B channel and the metal thickness to 1/16. I was very happy with the result!
Just about time to throw it back to the way it was with the trans lock so I can still enter it in next year's build-off.

Sorry if I’m getting the build page off topic, and not to jump the gun, but what sorts of rule alterations are being considered? It’s going to be cool to see a green tractor in the build off , something different.

I always thought it would be cool to try and put some lights on a roll bar behind the seat like the baja rigs do. Just my 2c
