Thinking about a front skidplate, something like this would be nice af. Not necessarliy to get up over stuff. More so I don't get a stump or something jammed in the abyss between my front axle mount and the front of my frame. Sucks having to lift Mutt up off stuff when that happens.

That would be very cool . I need one on all of my machines

Weight isn't a problem if you never get stuck. Getting stuck rarely happens to me. Jus' sayin.

Also spotted this. Once I stop being lazy and put a valve stem in my right rear tire I could have these on all of my wheels and not worry about breaking valve stems!

Dunno what grinding your talking about. I've never had an oversped transmission sound good, always has that whine/growl. Or do you mean all the times I gotta slam it back to reverse and then count the clicks as I move it forward to know what gear I'm in? Lol

It sounded like the input pulley on the trans was still turning when you were shifting causing some grinding, but I could be wrong. Maybe it's just noise coming from your shift linkage.

Man, just as I tell myself it's pretty much done I get all these cool ideas. Maybe I'll get to them when I get Orion in a giv'erable condition I'll get back to Mutt.

Well fellas, I'm afraid I've done what should have been impossible. Murdered the steering box. Dunno what exactly happened to it, but i'm assuming I split the bronze worm gear off of it's steel hub or something. Pics later.

On the bright side, the new fronts perform great!

Possible good news! Dad said that the bronze gear is pressed and keyed to the shaft, so maybe i just sheared the key. If I fix it like that it'll only be for til I get a rack and pinion of course lol.

Not the pics I intended to post tonight but I decided I'd put off tearing up this junk and relax and play some bass tonight. Kinda sad that Orion's stock incandescent bulbs wired 12v are brighter than the LEDs I put on Mutt. Oh well haha. Maybe I'll put a set of stock incandescent sealed units back in this hood? Just gotta solder the terminal back on the one. They were damn bright, and I doubt I'll break em.
