Well wanted to start a thread about what I do with my free time. I'm always tinkering around with mowers, clients projects, and other small engine repairs/maintenance equipment besides mud mowers. I'll be posting little bit of everything in here.

I pulled this Honda GX240 242cc OHV out of a mortar mixer that had sat in a VA field for a long time. I'm thinking the carburetor was the issue. Tomorrow I'll fire it up to see if that's the case.

Abit rusty but cleanable. Whole engine is covered in mortar mix. Not to sure what to do about that.

unfortunatly about all you can do with that mortar mix is chip away at it and maybe wire brush or wire wheel on a die grinder. i wish you luck !

Picked up a 2000 Murray Widebody LT 42"/20HP for Christmas.

Been busy with this 2016 Husqvarna GTH 52XLS Garden Tractor. Did a full tune up & maintenance on this unit. It has 328 hours on it. Last year it cut 113 yards. It has a 24hp Briggs vtwin that wasn't purring like a kitten no more. The list goes on an on. Over the 4 years of owning it lots have broken on it. The rear differential actuator has broke, throttle snapped, deck flap Has Broken, seat has been damaged by Sun, muffler guard has snapped a couple places, front hood got bent in from a tree branch, plastic handles have been stripped out where the bolt goes so the flap around but they're still on the tractor, differential rocker switch has blown off, & lost count of how many blades and sharpen blades I've gone through. It has been a good tractor but I've done 10 years of mowing in three Summers. Its tired

- Plugged the two front tires.
- Disassemble front axle to replace axle/spindle washers that had grinded down and disintegrated.
- Replaced backing washers for the front rims that had grinded down to thin.
- Greezed front axle and rims.
- Unbolted and straightened up muffler guard.
- Oil change and installed new oil filter.
- Replaced plugs and blew out air filter.
- Topped off battery.
- Remove deck to pressure wash.
- Painted underside of deck and installed new blades.
- Grazed the deck hubs and tightened up idler pulley.
- I need to pick up a deck belt due to I came across a crack that is almost the full depth that I didn't notice before
- Washed the whole tractor

pretty heavy duty deck on that for being what it is, I have taken a few of them apart and dont remember the decks looking like that.

Oh yeah. Most of the locking diff ones have those fabricated decks.

the only thing I don't like about this deck is the little metal tabs where the wheels are. The factory forgot to weld the bottom of the tabs to the deck so there kinda pulled out and twisted which sucks. Other than that its well built.

@Murraymountain Do you know what gage metal they are? Never thought about checking the thickness.

I'm not sure, but I think it's 12 gauge.

Filled a 14' cargo trailer today with junk. Church retired all there lawn equipment. Bunch of scrap and parts. The tractor I a '09 Husqvarna LGT2554 25hp Kohler Courage Vtwin 54" cut with snow plow, chains, & weights. The rear end is slipping and the steering/front end has seen better days. Still runs on its 2012 battery. Lol

I bet if you get some of it running it'll sell well once the corona is over.

Are those courage v twins any good? I know the twin cam singles are absolute garbage but I haven’t done any reading on the twins

@CraftsmanQuad19 from what I have heard with the vtwins yes.

The Courage singles are nothing but problem childs from what I've seen. From leaking all kinds of oil, to cracking the blocks, to breaking camshafts. The v-twins models aqren't nearly as bad and they run nice and start good too.

I'd still pick a Command though, haha.

Haha, you'd change your mind about that if you saw our Husky when we got it. And yours is bigger than ours.

@AllisKidD21 I thought it was a command unit until I washed it off. Yes I've had 2 twin camps over the years a omg the oil leaking from the valve covers. Oil on the mufflers of those 2 tractors smoked like a freight train. One was on my original mud mower and only was it wound start was if I took the air box cover off and held a rag over the hole.

oh I was referring to everything not just the tractor. Tractor front end is in sad shape. Steering arms are bent, spindles are slightly bent, and the front axle has been pushed back. All that has caused the tires to go balled. Rear is starting to slip going up hills. Thought it was the belt so we thought a new one on last year but didnt fix the issue. Pull start on the weed wacker wont go back in and the other one is broken. The plastic gears in the front wheel drive push mower wheels have been grinded down so it dont work and the other one is blown. The seeders are rusted up solid and crumbling and the blower sprays gas all over you and acts like its gonna blow the rod out the block. It's almost 25 years old. Plow is in great condition. Gonna hopefully fabricate some mounts to us it on the quad.
