OH HELLS YES!!! It lives and breathes! I pulled the glow plugs and tested them with my battery booster pack. Good to go, so I screwed them back in. I rigged up a gravity feed test tank to it, and a return line back off the second injector. I connected my battery booster pack to the glow plugs for 30 seconds and then hit the starter... VROOOM
Oh, life is SO good!

Tec 10hp vertical. The case is actually broken. Owner said something about previous owner using COOKING OIL as a lubricant... Like... WTF?
You could say that sucker DID cook!!!
When I was working on a cranberry marsh we used vegetable oil as a lube because a leak would be food safe. I also have heard it being used on golf courses because it was less damaging to turf.

We used mineral oil for lube in Kroger's food plant. Lard was used in place of bearing grease. both food safe, but needed changed more often than dino oils.

I have seen logging companies use veggie oil in places where there are waterway laws (doesnt stop them from sending a few hundred tons of silt down river)

I'll see if I can't toss a pic or two up later this evening, but I did some parts gathering yesterday. Came up with a 62 Amp Delco 10si alternator, a couple motorcycle radiators and cooling fans. Gotta fab up a bracket for the alternator, and figure out a cooling arrangement for it. I'm looking forward to starting it and actually running it for more than 3 seconds. I may have to shoot a video clip when I do.
I have the excact engine Doc, if it's a Kubota Z401.
Right you are! Would you do me a favour then? When you have a chance, measure the radiator surface area for me- not the tanks, just the cooling area. I want to see if what I have available comes close to the stock configuration. Thanks, TD!

Sorry the Z402 is the one i have, and guess what mine's connected too? (in the term of a clutch) And i can do that.
