| Well- when you pretty much completely lose 2 months of your life, you're forced to reschedule things. Dang. Time to mothball this project until spring. That's okay- more time to figure a few things out.
So- because I don't have enough indoor storage, I've pulled the engine and tranny out and put everything away for the winter.

| You and me both, amigo. But it's okay- winter will give me a chance to plan a bit more, and work on 2 other back-burner projects- General Mayhem, and Reactor. | |

| Looks like this weekend, a guy's gonna give me $200 for the original hydro TX off this thing. I got the tractor free, spent $20 on wheels and tires, $100 to have the 700 shipped up from the states, $10 on a Lovejoy coupler. That leaves me $70 I can still spend on this build before it actually starts costing me money... LOL | |

| The possibility still exists, but nothing's written in stone. I have to run a tight budget, and the additional parts could add up to a pretty gnarly sum. Also- I have firmly decided on suspension, which complicates the tandem thing. | |

| I see. Im interested to see how you were thinking about doing that... even if only chicken scratch doodle.
I dont think I will be doing any tandem axles anytime soon. Less I can find military truck axles... that I could afford. Not going to happen I dont think. But can you imagine, 40s Dodge powerwagon Cummins powered, tandem rear and willock swivel frame? lol(Im still going to build that swivel frame gokart one of these days)

| That's a "To Be Determined" thing. It could be as simple as both axles riding the same swingarm. Not ideal, but then again, better than a single axle. We'll see. Gotta balance between $ and simplicity. Cool and doable, but cheap. | |

| Well if they were in the same swingarm that would cause an uneven wear between tires because the suspension would cause 1 axle to sit on the ground more than the other. Unless you designed in an extra swingarm design into the original swingarm and use a soft coil over to allow it to "float" over the ground | |

| What about the pivot point being between the 2 axles? Or is that what you were thinking Doc?

| That sounds like a walking beam design. I'm still up in the air on this. The problem with a walink beam is I've gotta set up the whole thing at once. I cannot just get a single rear axle in there and add the second later, which is something I may want to do. | |

| As a Canadian, I refuse to answer on grounds that I may incriminate myself. For you 'murcans, I'ma plead the 5th amendment. Hahahahah
Actually, who the heck knows, other than I'm up to my butt in it *More mods planned for MULE *MULEII started *Need to finish General Mayhem *Need to finish Reactor *Mods/repairs needed for the Green Machine *Oldest son now wants a tractor (dammit. lol) *Staring at this rear-steer transaxle hoping it doesn't turn into a completely new project

| Oh, frig. Thanks man... I forgot about the DB30 chopper project. And I STILL need to rebuild my KVF400 engine. Smokes like Winston Churhill. I take that sucka for a run, and instantly destroy the mosquito population for a 100 square mile radius.
Getting back to it- Space in my garage is severely limited. I have a 14' long platform set up on 4 sawhorse, with Reactor and General on there. They are the designated winter projects, as I have no room for anything else. That will buy me time to plan for the other stuff.

| Atleast you have a garage to work in. If all goes as planned with my shed Ill have a bit of a bench to work on, space that I could pull a truck into(atleast half) and then room to park my toys. Im thinking for gokarts a multilayered beefy shelf would be cool... Ive got all kinds of ideas for this thing... | |
