| My relationship with Briggs opposed twins is love/hate:  I hate the the horrible little C-clip thing Briggs put on the newer style flathead starters, what a pain. I wish it was held on with a stover nut like the starter on my Kohler Magnum. That is the worst design ever, even a roll pin is better. I have got them on and off but after a few times they get loose & I had to put tack welds on them. | |

| I like the old ones with the roll pins. Those C clips are a pain, i think I've lost two... lol.
I think the armature on the starter on mutt broke loose on the shaft, i hear it turning without turning the engine sometimes, but it catches eventually | |

| LOL I hate C clips and E clips, especially on tire spindles. They come off and off goes your tire. I got so fed up with losing them that I just put some lock collars on instead. | |

| Yeah, this time I came out unscathed. I've only hurt myself a couple times and one good bruise to my stomach from the thing whipping around on me before. Doesn't matter if I have the extra handle on or not. It just adds to the projectile. LOL
Needless to say I only use it when I have to use it. | |
