| A small engine show I always go to lets you ride around with lawn tractors or other motorized stuff if you want. Some people have a small trailer with a seat for a second passenger. I decided to finally build a trailer to haul a second passenger, but I wanted to have some hauling capacity also, in case I buy any engines or anything. It's mostly made up of scrap pieces which would have been thrown out anyway. I started off with a section of T beam from a garage door opener system and what I think was a craftsman front axle. Welded the spindles solid with a slight bit of toe-in (which turned out to be a bit too much but it'll work) I welded the spindles at the top, but also I welded some sections of bolts between the axle and spindle at the bottom. They should stay put. I made everything pretty beefy, just in case I ever use it over rough ground or anything Agway tractor being used for lining up the hitch. Added some thin angle pieces I had to box everything in and up front I added a wood floor. The seat is hinged to allow access to the storage space below. The steel crate and seat can all be removed from the trailer by removing a U-bolt which holds the metal plate at the bottom. Then the trailer can be used as a flat bed with a board fitted in place of the crate. Behind the axle will be another flat area for storage which isn't done yet. Paint and testing soon... | |

| Looking good! So this is for the Simplicity? Also, you gonna keep the mismatched tires or get some mild offroad ones? | |

| Thanks people. Yeah I plan on pulling it with the simplicity but this isn't the off road trailer I want to build. This one I just wanted to put together quick and I'll probably just keep the tires that are on there as long as they hold air.I think one has a plug in it. I plan on making another trailer with the same tires as I have on the front of the simplicity. That one will sort of be a copy of a military style trailer. | |

| Looking good. Could extend the 'bed' out towards the hitch to give you some more cargo space. | |

| At first glance of the thread, I thought you was going to make the passenger sit in the basket, kinda like a shopping cart thing, LOL. Looks good though and relieved there is a seat. | |

| Someone should make one with a toilet....but maybe not me lol. I can't extend the front part out too much further because If I want to back into a tight spot it would hit the rear wheels of the tractor. But I plan on adding some more space for storage in the rear.
It looks like I might not be testing it out this weekend at the engine show because I didn't get a chance to paint this thing yet and it's been raining. Might have to just go on foot this time, but I'll get it finished up as soon as I get some good weather.

| Finished welding the rear storage area on. A view of the bottom. Some expanded steel tack welded to the rear area and some paint. A few stickers for advertising purposes... Some shiny paint makes anything look better | |

| Your trailer does look mighty nice. The only thing I would add is a handle of sorts for the passenger to hang on should the need arise. _______________________________________________ Li'l RED my original modified tractor!Forum Admin -- Chat Admin-- Facebook Page Admin ATLTF Facebook Page -- How To Upload PicturesHave a question? | Thanks, and yes I agree about the handle. You can reach down and hold the handles in the crate but it's a pain. This is for slow speed crawling through swap meet rows but I was thinking I could make one built just for off roading with a passenger and have that designed better for rough ground and higher speeds.
Did a bit of testing today with it and it works pretty good. Pics of it hooked up soon.
